A Closer Look into the DreamCloud Dreamcloud Comparison

The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is a standout among luxury hybrid beds. While it’s built from the same quality of materials as anyone else, it’s priced comparatively less. Although it is listed as being in the medium firm range, its comfort level is slightly more firm than average. Although it’s within the comfort range that most people would like to sleep on, it can be problematic for some.

The DreamCloud Hybrid has a profile of 14 inches. This hybrid design allows for more comfort and support. Its overall construction, which we’ll discuss later, allows people with limited budgets the opportunity to upgrade to a better model than their old one.

DreamCloud Hybrid, the flagship product of DreamCloud USA, is a US-based sleep specialist brand. It offers its customers a luxurious-grade but valuable bedroom experience. The firm sells DreamCloud Premier and DreamCloud Premium Rest premium mattresses.

Although we’re only going to focus on the entry-level-type DreamCloud here, it’s worth noting that both of those models are made of more expensive material, therefore elevating their comfort levels and price range. This is not meant to discourage you from getting the Original model, by the way, as we’re also going to prove later on in this review that it can achieve close to the same luxurious feel as the other two mattresses at a more budget-friendly cost.

What does the general public think about DreamCloud?

As of this writing, the DreamCloud mattress and its sister models have received over 10,000 reviews. Many of these reviews are extremely positive. They range from how great it was to get a good night’s sleep to how much it is worth the price.

While it may manage to be exceptional enough to win people’s hearts, we shouldn’t fully ignore its fair share of criticisms it has received. Some sleepers have expressed dissatisfaction with the DreamCloud Hybrid, claiming it was too soft and too firm. Many shared the pain they felt from not being able to sleep on it.

The product can cause a variety of reactions, which may be mixed depending on how long you use it. How much a sleeper weighs, how old they are, which climate they live in, and what type of position they prefer whenever they rest are among the major factors that will contribute to what they ultimately feel about this product. We cannot guarantee that the DreamCloud Hybrid will suit every sleep type. However, what we are sure of is that it may be an ideal choice for many who just want overall comfort in their sleep.

Who Should Use the DreamCloud?

  • Strict back sleepers – This mattress is exceptional in its ability to provide ample comfort, spinal alignment, and much-needed pressure relief, especially for those who may have varying signs of back pain
  • People who like to sleep on a firmer, medium-firm mattress
  • Hot sleepers – The DreamCloud Hybrid is strategically designed with air pockets and gel infusion, a powerful combination that will keep you cool all night.
  • People who want to upgrade to a luxurious mattress at a reasonable price
  • Active couples or partners – Those who share the model with their partners can take advantage of its remarkable ease of movement.
  • Senior citizens – The majority of seniors may have varying levels of chronic pain, particularly back pain. The DreamCloud Hybrid may help them to manage their pain.

Is there anyone who wouldn’t like this mattress?

  • Side sleepers who are strict – Lightweight sleepers might find the bed’s surface more comfortable to lie on. Heavy sleepers, however, may sink more easily, causing pressure points to form.
  • Heavyweight sleepers – Though this mattress may be able to accommodate most body types, it may not be enough to carry the weight of individuals who lean more towards the heavier categories
  • People who like a mattress with memory foam may prefer the DreamCloud mattress. However, it does not have the soft, sinking feel that memory foam lovers are looking for.

Test the DreamCloud’s Firmness & Feel

Firmness is one of the very first things you may need to check if you’re looking for a new mattress. It can make it easy to decide whether it is too firm or soft, or whether you are tempted to buy it. Although the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress claims a comfort level of 6.5/10 on the firmness scale for its mattress, how accurate is that claim? To answer this, we tested out its overall firmness and feel to see for ourselves if DreamCloud is true to its word with its flagship mattress. Dreamcloud Comparison

We sent in four volunteers – each from three different weight groups – to sleep on the DreamCloud Hybrid in different sleeping positions on a two-week venture. The two lightweight (130 lbs below), and the heavyweight (230lbs above) sleepers are represented by the other two volunteers. The rest of the team represents the average group, 130-230 lbs, although one is only 155 lbs while the other is closer to 225.

The data collected over the last 14 days suggests that the majority of people could agree that the mattress can accommodate a wide range of body weights and positions. However, not all. If we could rank the DreamCloud Hybrid, we’d give it a solid 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale – medium firm, for sure. It’s plush enough to be comfortable, yet supportive enough to contour the body even in different positions. Plus, it’s worth noting that two of the three volunteers found the mattress to receive comfort instantly upon contact, while the other admittedly took them a few days to adjust.

How Does It Feel in Different Sleeping Positions?

Flat Back Sleeping

We’ve found the DreamCloud Hybrid to be a great bed for back sleepers of all weight types. According to what we have gathered from volunteers, there was no issue with the firmness of the DreamCloud Hybrid. Its construction is flexible enough to support the spine and provide adequate support. Lightweight sleepers may enjoy this one – not only should they feel supported enough, but its top layers should also give them the feeling of being able to lie on top as comfortably as possible.

The DreamCloud Hybrid may be the best choice for average-weighted people. It should provide them with the right balance of support and relief. Their hips, in particular, should sink into the mattress very nicely while the coils underneath support them. Heavyweight sleepers should also feel the same to some extent, but those who weigh around 300lbs or more may not find it suitable since they may sink in too much to the point where pressure is produced. Dreamcloud Comparison

Flat Stomach Sleeping

While the DreamCloud mattress may provide most back sleepers with exceptional contouring and spinal alignment, the same can apply to side sleepers, though there are a few notable exceptions. Our average-weighted volunteers had mixed reactions to the mattress. The bed was able to support their bodies and align them well, with our 155-lb volunteer. Their 225-lb counterpart observed its top layers to be a bit soft under his hips but was able to experience a decent amount of support and comfort.

The DreamCloud Hybrid may be too soft for heavy people, especially those over 300 lbs. Our representative from that group told us her hips were sinking into the mattress often whenever she laid on her stomach, and it reached the point where she found it a bit uncomfortable to sleep in this position. While it seems that stomach sleepers who weigh more than average may find issues with this mattress, lightweight individuals may reap the benefits of relief better than other denominations. Because of their body, their hips will not be able sink in as much. Therefore, they should feel just as comfortable on their stomachs than their backs.

Side Sleeping

Side sleeping on the DreamCloud Hybrid is more common for those who are average in weight than the others. For folks who weigh between 130-190 lbs, they may receive an ample amount of contouring support, and the pressure along the hips and shoulders won’t be as much so they should be good. Our volunteer of 155 lbs found that the experience was worth it as they were able rest well, regardless of whether they switched sides or stayed on one side. For those who weigh 190 lbs onwards, it’s a different story.

Both our heavyweight and 225-lb reps have expressed that the mattress was a bit uncomfortable to sleep on sideways. Both experienced a lot of sinking in their hips, shoulders and hips. This can lead to pressure points that could cause minor concurrent pains. As heavier individuals may find the DreamCloud Hybrid to be soft under their weight, those who are lesser than 130 pounds may find it a little bit firmer sometimes to be able to sleep properly. Our lightweight volunteer can attest to this: when she tried to rest strictly on one side for a prolonged period, she felt as if the top layers were too firm at times, but when it came to sleeping with her sides interchanged, it turned out to be decently comfortable. Minor adjustments can be expected at this rate.

Examining its Pain Relief Capabilities

While our volunteers had a lot of fun testing the DreamCloud Hybrid’s firmness, it was also possible to assess how effective it is in pain relief. We set up a pressure map over the mattress and asked our volunteers to lie on their stomachs, backs, and sides to determine if there was any pressure difference.

We believe that the DreamCloud Hybrid can provide excellent pressure relief for most sleepers. Most people, except for those who are over 300 lbs, will find comfort and relaxation right away. The bed’s layers, which include the memory foam, are sufficient to support their weight and contour their bodies very well. This results in low pressure throughout the entire body. The mattress creates very few pressure points, which means that back pains are less likely to occur. This is especially important for seniors and people who have back problems.

In terms of sleeping on the stomach, expect the DreamCloud Hybrid to produce a decent yet everchanging share of pressure points, particularly along the hips. Lightweight and average sleepers may be able to rest soundly without the imminent fear of pent-up pressure, but heavyweight ones, especially those whose structure is adjacent to 300lbs, may need to watch out as too much sinking may lead to an increase in pressure points. Dreamcloud Comparison

We found significant pressure points for most body types when it came to side sleep. It doesn’t matter what your weight, side sleeping on the DreamCloud Hybrid will cause discomfort. The problem is worse for those who are heavier. Lighter sleepers, for instance, may not enjoy the feel of the mattress in this position for long periods, while heavy-weighted ones may not like it equally as they tend to sink into it more to the point where they feel pain in their shoulders and hips. The only anomaly here is the group of average-weighted sleepers, but that doesn’t mean they’re completely free from the pressure points the DreamCloud mattress may bring to them.

How to Dismantle Its Construction

What is the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress exactly made of? The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress measures 14 inches in height. It is filled with notable qualities that keep you cool and relaxed throughout the night. It’s equipped with exceptional cooling capabilities to keep the body cool and prevent heat buildup, making it a top-performing hybrid model.

Built using high-quality CertiPUR-US-certified foam layers of varying firmnesses with a thin tier of memory foam in between, it’s also backed with a set of strong innerspring coils to hold the body together. Let’s look at the DreamCloud mattress’s construction.

Layer 1: Cashmere Blend Cover

Cashmere wool is known for its soft touch and luxurious feel. It’s for this reason that DreamCloud chose to incorporate this into the cover of its signature mattress model. The quilt’s cloud-patterned design, which is splayed across the mattress, invites the user to lay down on the bed. The material is breathable and has excellent temperature-regulating characteristics to help cool the sleeper at night.

Layer 2: Contouring Soft foam

Since the mattress cover is quilted, after all, you wouldn’t guess which material is stitched onto until now! Under the cashmere-blend mattress cover is a plush, soft, and supportive polyfoam that provides ample support for the body’s weight. This layer, which is 1 1/2 inches in thickness, gives off a pillow-top feeling that most users will likely feel upon touching the bed.

Layer 3: Layer of Memory Foam

Since its inception, memory foam has been widely recognized to adapt and respond to the body’s shape as fluidly as possible and provide much-needed relief from its pressure points. The DreamCloud Hybrid has it placed underneath the quilted top layer. It measures one inch and is just right to support the sleeper, but it doesn’t give off a sinking sensation. Although this material is known for trapping heat well, DreamCloud has incorporated gel infusion to help cool the body.

Layer 4: Layer of Transition Polyfoam

A two-inch thick layer of firm polyfoam is found beneath the memory foam. It acts as a transitional layer between soft mattress and base foundation. It serves two purposes: 1) it conforms the body’s posture and shape to the coils; and 2) it keeps it from sinking further into the mattress, which can be very inconvenient.

Layer 5: Innerspring Coils

The DreamCloud Hybrid’s foundation is made up of an entire system of individually wrapped innerspring coils. Each spring is 8 1/2 inches tall. This contributes to the mattress’s overall height. While most of the coils can respond to the sleeper’s ever-changing movements well, the perimeters are designed to be strategically fortified using stronger steel, effectively making way for better edge support.

Layer 6: Stability Base Layer

Situated beneath the coil set is an inch-thick layer of high-density standard foam. It acts as a foundation for the mattress and is thick enough to prevent the springs moving, but thin enough to allow airflow. Dreamcloud Comparison

They will bounce back. It won’t feel as if it were there, but you will be able to appreciate the fact that it is there to prevent it from falling apart.

Layer 7: Shift-Resistant Lower Cover

To cap it all off is a tufted cover to store all the layers within the DreamCloud Hybrid safely in place. Although it’s not considered a layer that makes up the bed per se, it’s built for the sole purpose to secure the foundation that holds it. The mattress’s round borders are embellished with tufted decor. It also has four sides handles that are sewn into the side to make it easy to transport.

What was the DreamCloud’s Performance?

The perfect mattress should adapt to the individual’s needs. Other than being able to accommodate their body type and preferred sleeping position, there are other important factors that should be considered. This includes their habits and climate. We were able to perform a number of tests during the two-week test period to determine if the DreamCloud Hybrid is a solid staple in the bedroom.

Temperature Control

The DreamCloud Hybrid promises to be equipped with excellent cooling abilities, and we couldn’t agree more when we checked the temperature of one of our volunteers through a thermal camera scanner. This is all thanks to its mix of temperature-regulating materials embedded within the mattress: the gel-infused memory foam layer, the breathable cashmere cover, and the coils that encourage more air to pass through.

This model is ideal for couples or individuals who live in hot climates.

Motion Transfer

Considering what it’s made of and how it functions, the DreamCloud mattress may not fully absorb a person’s motions, but it does a decent job, regardless. When we had two of our volunteers test it out for motion transfer, we first noticed that one of them wasn’t able to feel another’s changing movements as much until they got more intense. When it came to small movements, it resulted in a lesser to no sign of disturbance.

The DreamCloud Hybrid’s motion isolation capabilities make it comparable to luxury hybrid beds. This model is not recommended for light sleepers with a restless partner.

Edge Support

The DreamCloud Hybrid is said to provide great edge support with the help of reinforced steel coils around the perimeter/edges, but how accurate is this claim? When we checked it out by letting out volunteers sit and lie along the edges of the bed, we then found out that it was mostly true, though not entirely. A mattress with exceptional edge support may allow sleepers to take advantage of the surface without fear of falling or sinking.

Our volunteers can attest that the DreamCloud bed’s edges are able to support them well. However, our heavyweight rep stated otherwise. Those who weigh more than 230 lbs may not find this bed as supportive.

Noise

Beds with innerspring coils as their foundation are notorious for making significant squeaking noises, especially coming to terms with intense movement. This is also true for hybrid beds that have springs interspersed between layers of foam.

The DreamCloud Hybrid is a rare exception. During our two-week test period, no one noticed any annoying squeaking from the bed. The way it was constructed or the method of wrapping up each oil may be a contributing factor, but regardless, with this model, noise shouldn’t be a huge worry for many. Dreamcloud Comparison

Mobility made easy

A mattress made from a variety of materials should have the ability to balance contouring and movement. The DreamCloud model does this by making its memory layer compatible with other foam layers. It conforms to the body like a hug. Meanwhile, the coil system beneath the comfort layers should respond to movements quite well, resulting in easier navigation throughout the surface.

As our team tried to move around the bed, we spotted right away that it wasn’t entirely difficult to switch from one side of the surface to another. If you plan to do some motion-intensive activities on the bed, especially, you wouldn’t have any issues with it.

Sex

The DreamCloud Hybrid is a motion-intensive bed that we believe has a lot of potential. Folks who engage in sex once in a while may surely enjoy its ability to adapt to their movements swiftly. The fact that it makes noticeably less noise than other hybrid beds also makes it likely possible for them to engage discreetly.

Being a medium-firm bed, partners who prefer to do one or three positions may not find enough hugging along the surface to keep them at least secure. The DreamCloud mattress is one of the best beds for sex. Dreamcloud Comparison

Durability

The DreamCloud Hybrid is durable, thanks to its high-quality materials, certified foam layers, and other features. Plus, based on some of the reviews about the product that we could find, its overall quality and capabilities may hold up for not just a mere few weeks but months and even years!

The length of this durability will depend on how frequently the user uses it and if there are any additional people who sleep on it. After a two-week test period, we all agreed that the DreamCloud mattress was durable enough to continue providing comfort. We believe it should remain this way for seven to eight more years. Dreamcloud Comparison

Unboxing and off-gassing the DreamCloud

The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is neatly packed and sealed in a box. The size of the mattress will determine how heavy it is. The twin is the lightest and Cal King and King are the most heavy. When we unboxed the Queen-sized version to be used for our tests, we noticed that some of our teammates find it quite heavy to carry it alone, so from that point onwards we needed an extra person to help ease the burden.

Other than the mattress, the box also contains a booklet with instructions and a pocket knife. This is especially useful if you don’t already have one. After you have rolled it out of the box onto your bed frame, it will be fully compressed. You should wait between 24-48 hours. Since you’re going to encounter a fresh new mattress in front of you, expect it to emit a slightly off-putting odor.

Models made of synthetic foam layers tend to emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs) collected from manufacturing. Since the DreamCloud Hybrid’s foam layers are all CertiPUR-US-certified, the amount should be much less. Regardless, it’s important to leave it out for the smell to dissipate completely after a good day or two. To speed this process up, we suggest that you do so in a well-ventilated environment by opening up all the windows and doors in the room.

Prices and sizes available

The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is not only a great mattress, but it also has some amazing features. This model sells at an affordable price due to the quality of its foundation and framework, as well as the type of materials it was made.

You may also save money if you order from DreamCloud’s official site. You’re also rewarded with a free set of bedding, including pillowcases, sheets, and a mattress protector, to help make the set-up process simpler.

DreamCloud vs. Other Top Mattresses

You want to look at other options? We’ll help you with that! Although the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is the most popular luxury hybrid model on the market, there are two alternatives that offer the same comfort and have unique features that it does not. Let’s take a closer look at each one! Dreamcloud Comparison

DreamCloud vs. Saatva

The Similarities: Much like the DreamCloud Hybrid, the original Saatva Classic mattress is a luxury hybrid bed that’s excellent in providing comfort and relief to the sleeper’s back. It’s also bouncy and responsive to movements, making it easier to navigate across the surface.

The differences: Saatva costs a little more than DreamCloud Hybrid due to its more complex coil system and Euro-coated cotton pillowtop. Unlike the latter which has only one, the former gives you more firmness options to cater to many different body types.

DreamCloud vs. Nectar

Similarities: The DreamCloud Hybrid and Nectar Mattress are both delivered in a box. You and your companion will have to put them together. Both are jam-packed with impressive temperature-regulating capabilities, offer year-long sleep trials, and even come from the same parent company, Resident.

The differences: The DreamCloud Hybrid bed is a hybrid, while Nectar is an all-foam mattress with a thick layer of memory foam between. It can adapt to many sleeping positions, not just the back. Many even find it to be best suited for strict side sleeping.

Our final thoughts: How is the DreamCloud Hybrid mattress holding up so far?

From taking a close look at what it is to fully testing it out for ourselves, it’s evident by now that the DreamCloud Hybrid is brimming with potential as a suitable luxury hybrid mattress for any bedroom and, to some extent, any occasion.

It can support and accommodate most people’s backs. However, it is not able to alleviate pressure points in some areas. Considering the type of materials used and how it’s cleverly constructed, it’s sure to give folks a well-rounded experience that’s open to versatility – and at a surprisingly affordable price range, too!

Although the DreamCloud Hybrid’s medium-firm surface is inviting, it may not be for everyone. The bed is not strong enough to support 300-pounds or more. Regardless, it’s clear that it has what it takes as a welcoming staple for solo sleepers, couples, and even families!

You also have less to lose if it’s your decision to buy it. DreamCloud offers a variety of discounts and has a responsive customer support team to help you. We give the DreamCloud Hybrid a solid 4.5/5 star rating due to all these great reasons. It’s definitely worth the effort… and the purchase! Dreamcloud Comparison

FAQ Dreamcloud Comparison

What is DreamCloud’s warranty? How does it work?

DreamCloud offers its customers a lifetime warranty period in which the company will shoulder the responsibility of replacing or repairing its mattress should it ever sustain significant damage years after purchase, completely free of charge. This can be utilized if the bed slowly compresses and forms impressions at least 1.5 inches deep, sustains material flaws, or comes with manufacturing defects immediately upon purchase.

DreamCloud offers a lifetime warranty on all purchases made through its official website.

What is the DreamCloud sleep trial duration?

Authentic DreamCloud mattresses, including its original hybrid model, come with a 365-night Home Trial period. Compared to other mattress specialists that offer shorter 180-night trials, DreamCloud encourages you to familiarize yourself and test the waters with your purchase for a full year, giving you more time to decide if it’s the right fit.

What happens if I return the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress within the sleep trial? What happens if I decide to return the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress during the sleep trial period?

All of DreamCloud’s available mattress models are eligible for returns within the 365-night sleep trial. If you are unhappy with your purchase and wish to return it within the 365-night period, the Sleep Concierge team will assist you in arranging for a replacement or refund. You may also opt to exchange it with a replacement model once you receive your cash if you like. Dreamcloud Comparison

As far as returns after the trial period ends are concerned: unfortunately, the mattress will not be eligible once the time has passed. You wouldn’t be eligible for a refund, either.

Where does the DreamCloud Hybrid usually ship to?

As this applies to all purchases made within the official web store, the DreamCloud Hybrid as well as its other models are shipped to your address completely free of charge – that is, if you live within the contingent U.S. An additional $150 will be charged to mattresses delivered to Alaska and Hawai’i.

DreamCloud doesn’t ship products to the United States from its website. This includes Puerto Rico, Guam, and other countries. It does have a Amazon.com certified storefront that allows you to ship any product internationally. Dreamcloud Comparison
