A Closer Look into the DreamCloud Dreamcloud Logo
The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress stands out among the other luxury hybrid beds of today. While it’s built from the same quality of materials as anyone else, it’s priced comparatively less. Although it is listed as being in the medium firm range, its comfort level is slightly more firm than average. It’s practically within the range an average person may look forward to sleeping on, but it could also be a concern for those who may not be built for that.
With a profile measured at 14 inches, the DreamCloud Hybrid may be a handy upgrade for people who may have been used to sleeping in lower beds, as its hybrid nature allows them to lay more comfortably with extra cushioning and layers underneath for support. Its overall construction, which we’ll discuss later, allows people with limited budgets the opportunity to upgrade to a better model than their old one.
DreamCloud Hybrid, the flagship product of DreamCloud USA, is a US-based sleep specialist brand. It offers its customers a luxurious-grade but valuable bedroom experience. The firm sells DreamCloud Premier and DreamCloud Premium Rest premium mattresses.
Although we’re only going to focus on the entry-level-type DreamCloud here, it’s worth noting that both of those models are made of more expensive material, therefore elevating their comfort levels and price range. We are not going to discourage you from purchasing the Original model. However, we will show later in this review that it can provide the same luxurious feel and cost-effectiveness as the other mattresses.
How Does the General Public Feel About DreamCloud?
The DreamCloud mattress, along with its sister models, has amassed over 10,000 reviews as of this writing. Most of these are overwhelmingly positive and can range from how amazing it felt to be able to get a proper night’s rest to how it’s extremely worth the value pricing.
While it may manage to be exceptional enough to win people’s hearts, we shouldn’t fully ignore its fair share of criticisms it has received. Some sleepers have expressed dissatisfaction with the DreamCloud Hybrid, claiming it was too soft and too firm. Many shared the pain they felt from not being able to sleep on it.
Any reaction that comes from using this product for a long period may yield mixed results since these can vary from person to person. The main factors that influence how a person feels about the product are their weight, age, climate, and preference for sleeping position. With that in mind, we can’t fully guarantee that the DreamCloud Hybrid may suit all sleep types. However, what we are sure of is that it may be an ideal choice for many who just want overall comfort in their sleep.
Who Should Use the DreamCloud?
- For those with a strict back, this mattress is ideal in providing ample comfort and spinal alignment.
- People who prefer sleeping on a medium yet firmer mattress
- Hot sleepers – The DreamCloud Hybrid’s strategically designed with gel infusion and air pockets, a powerful combination guaranteed to keep the individual cool throughout the night
- People who are interested in upgrading to a luxury mattress at an affordable price
- Active couples or partners – Those with their partners may enjoy this model’s impressive ease of movement, and this can be used to their advantage should they decide to do anything on the bed
- Senior citizens – The majority of seniors may have varying levels of chronic pain, particularly back pain. The DreamCloud Hybrid may help them to manage their pain.

Who Might Not Like This Mattress?
- Side sleepers who are strict – Lightweight sleepers might find the bed’s surface more comfortable to lie on. Heavy sleepers, however, may sink more easily, causing pressure points to form.
- Heavyweight sleepers – Although this mattress might be able to support most body types, it may not have enough weight to support the heavier individuals.
- People who like a mattress with memory foam may prefer the DreamCloud mattress. However, it does not have the soft, sinking feel that memory foam lovers are looking for.
Test the DreamCloud’s Firmness & Feel
If you are looking for a mattress, the first thing you should check is its firmness. How firm or how soft it would turn out to be may either make you want to buy one or turn you off from it entirely. Although the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress claims a comfort level of 6.5/10 on the firmness scale for its mattress, how accurate is that claim? To answer this, we tested out its overall firmness and feel to see for ourselves if DreamCloud is true to its word with its flagship mattress. Dreamcloud Logo
Four volunteers were sent from three weight groups to try out the DreamCloud Hybrid. They were placed in various sleeping positions for a two-week period. Two of them represent the lightweight (130 lbs below) and heavyweight (230 lbs above) sleepers, respectively, while the rest of the team represents the average group (130-230 lbs), although one weighs 155 lbs and the other is close to 225 lbs.
Based on the data we collected over the past 14 days, it seems that most could agree that this mattress has the potential to accommodate a sizable range of positions and body weights but not exactly all of them. We would give the DreamCloud Hybrid a solid 7/10 on the firmness scale, which is medium firm. It’s plush enough to be comfortable, yet supportive enough to contour the body even in different positions. Plus, it’s worth noting that two of the three volunteers found the mattress to receive comfort instantly upon contact, while the other admittedly took them a few days to adjust.
What does it feel like to sleep in different positions?
Flat Back Sleeping
The DreamCloud Hybrid is a great choice for back sleepers of any weight. According to what we have gathered from volunteers, there was no issue with the firmness of the DreamCloud Hybrid. Its construction is flexible enough to support the spine and provide adequate support. This one may be a good choice for light-weight sleepers. Not only should it feel supportive enough, but the top layers should allow them to lay on top as comfortable as possible.
Average-weighted individuals may like the DreamCloud Hybrid best as it should give them the perfect balance of relief and hold. The coils beneath the mattress should support their hips and sink into the mattress. It should feel similar to heavy sleepers, although those who are 300lbs or more might not feel it. They may also experience pressure if they sink too deeply. Dreamcloud Logo
Flat Stomach Sleeping
While the DreamCloud mattress may provide most back sleepers with exceptional contouring and spinal alignment, the same can apply to side sleepers, though there are a few notable exceptions. Reactions are mixed for our average-weighted sleepers – our 155-lb volunteer found the bed to be able to support and align their body quite well. Their 225-lb counterpart observed its top layers to be a bit soft under his hips but was able to experience a decent amount of support and comfort.
Heavy folks, particularly those who weigh nearly 300 lbs, may find the DreamCloud Hybrid to be too soft for their liking. The representative of that group said her hips were sinking into her mattress when she lay on her stomach. It was so uncomfortable she couldn’t sleep in this position. While it seems that stomach sleepers who weigh more than average may find issues with this mattress, lightweight individuals may reap the benefits of relief better than other denominations. Because of their body, their hips will not be able sink in as much. Therefore, they should feel just as comfortable on their stomachs than their backs.

Side Sleeping
Side sleeping on the DreamCloud Hybrid is more common for those who are average in weight than the others. For folks who weigh between 130-190 lbs, they may receive an ample amount of contouring support, and the pressure along the hips and shoulders won’t be as much so they should be good. Our volunteer of 155 lbs found that the experience was worth it as they were able rest well, regardless of whether they switched sides or stayed on one side. For those who weigh 190 lbs onwards, it’s a different story.
Both our heavyweight and 225-lb reps have expressed that the mattress was a bit uncomfortable to sleep on sideways. Both experienced a lot of sinking in their hips, shoulders and hips. This can lead to pressure points that could cause minor concurrent pains. While heavier people may find the DreamCloud Hybrid soft, those less than 130 pounds may find it more firm to allow them to sleep well. Our lightweight volunteer can attest to this: when she tried to rest strictly on one side for a prolonged period, she felt as if the top layers were too firm at times, but when it came to sleeping with her sides interchanged, it turned out to be decently comfortable. At this rate, minor adjustments are more likely expected.
Examining its Pain Relief Capabilities
As our volunteers were having a ball with testing the DreamCloud Hybrid’s firmness, we also managed to examine how well it fared in terms of pain relief. To do this, we set up a pressure map on top of the mattress, and, once that was done, we asked the four volunteers to lay on the back, stomach, and both sides of their bodies to see if there was any significant pressure difference that we could spot right away.
We believe that the DreamCloud Hybrid can provide excellent pressure relief for most sleepers. Most people, except for those who are over 300 lbs, will find comfort and relaxation right away. The bed’s layers, which include the memory foam, are sufficient to support their weight and contour their bodies very well. This results in low pressure throughout the entire body. The mattress creates very few pressure points, which means that back pains are less likely to occur. This is especially important for seniors and people who have back problems.
The DreamCloud Hybrid will produce some pressure points in the stomach area, especially along the hips. Lightweight and average sleepers may be able to rest soundly without the imminent fear of pent-up pressure, but heavyweight ones, especially those whose structure is adjacent to 300lbs, may need to watch out as too much sinking may lead to an increase in pressure points. Dreamcloud Logo
When it came to side sleeping, we spotted some significant pressure points on most body types. No matter how much you weigh, it’s likely that laying sideways on the surface of the DreamCloud Hybrid may make you prone to varying degrees of discomfort, and it gets much worse if you’re heavier. For instance, lighter sleepers may not find the mattress comfortable in this position, while heavier sleepers may feel more pain in their hips and shoulders. This is where the DreamCloud mattress can be a little bit of a problem.
Breaking Down Its Construction
What exactly is the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress made of? Standing 14 inches tall, the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is packed with noteworthy qualities that help keep the sleeper relaxed and cool throughout the night. Like some of the top-performing hybrid models of today, it’s equipped with outstanding cooling capabilities, warding off the body’s heat to ensure better sleep.
Built using high-quality CertiPUR-US-certified foam layers of varying firmnesses with a thin tier of memory foam in between, it’s also backed with a set of strong innerspring coils to hold the body together. Let’s look at the DreamCloud mattress’s construction.
Layer 1: Cashmere Blend Cover
Cashmere wool has been historically known for being soft to the touch and luxurious in its feel. DreamCloud incorporated this in the cover for its signature mattress model. Splayed across the surface, its cloud-patterned quilt design is enough to invite the person to lie on the bed freely. The material is breathable and has excellent temperature-regulating characteristics to help cool the sleeper at night.
Layer 2: Contouring Soft foam
The mattress cover is quilted so you won’t be able to guess what material it is. Quilted under the cashmere-blend cover, lays a supportive plush soft polyfoam designed to provide ample cushioning and support around the body’s weight. This layer, which is 1 1/2 inches in thickness, gives off a pillow-top feeling that most users will likely feel upon touching the bed.
Layer 3: Memory Foam Layer
Since its inception, memory foam has been widely recognized to adapt and respond to the body’s shape as fluidly as possible and provide much-needed relief from its pressure points. The DreamCloud Hybrid has it placed underneath the quilted top layer. It measures one inch and is just right to support the sleeper, but it doesn’t give off a sinking sensation. Although this material is known for trapping heat well, DreamCloud has incorporated gel infusion to help cool the body.
Layer 4: Polyfoam Transition Layer
A two-inch thick layer of firm polyfoam is found beneath the memory foam. It acts as a transitional layer between soft mattress and base foundation. It works in two ways: 1) to conform the body’s shape and posture into perfect alignment, and 2) to keep it from further sinking into the mattress until it reaches the coils, which can oftentimes be highly inconvenient.
Layer 5: Innerspring Coils
The DreamCloud Hybrid’s foundation is made up of an entire system of individually wrapped innerspring coils. Contributing to the total height of the mattress at just 8 1/2 inches, each spring is enrobed with a breathable fiber – this way, it should help maximize the bed’s cooling capabilities, letting more air in and more heat from the body out. While most of the coils can respond to the sleeper’s ever-changing movements well, the perimeters are designed to be strategically fortified using stronger steel, effectively making way for better edge support.
Layer 6: Stability Base Layer
Situated beneath the coil set is an inch-thick layer of high-density standard foam. Since it serves as part of the foundation that holds the mattress together, it comes as solid and sturdy enough to secure the springs from moving too much, yet also thin enough to allow Dreamcloud Logo
They will bounce back. It won’t feel as if it were there, but you will be able to appreciate the fact that it is there to prevent it from falling apart.

Layer 7: Shift-Resistant Lower Cover
To cap it all off is a tufted cover to store all the layers within the DreamCloud Hybrid safely in place. Although it’s not considered a layer that makes up the bed per se, it’s built for the sole purpose to secure the foundation that holds it. Its rounded borders are adorned with tufted decor to make the mattress appear luxurious, while its four side handles, with two on each side, are sewn in to make transporting it easier and hassle-less.
What was the DreamCloud’s Performance?
The perfect mattress should adapt to the individual’s needs. Apart from accommodating their body type and preferred sleep position, other pressing factors should be taken into consideration – this includes a plethora of activities, habits, and even the climate that they are usually accustomed to. We were able to perform a number of tests during the two-week test period to determine if the DreamCloud Hybrid is a solid staple in the bedroom.
Temperature Control
The DreamCloud Hybrid is said to have excellent cooling capabilities. We were pleasantly surprised when one of our volunteers was tested by a thermal scanner. This is all thanks to its mix of temperature-regulating materials embedded within the mattress: the gel-infused memory foam layer, the breathable cashmere cover, and the coils that encourage more air to pass through.
Individuals living in hot climates or couples may look for a bed that doesn’t trap too much heat for them to end up uncomfortable, and this model could be their best bet.
Motion Transfer
The DreamCloud mattress is made from a combination of materials and functions. It may not absorb all motions but it does a good job. When we had two of our volunteers test it out for motion transfer, we first noticed that one of them wasn’t able to feel another’s changing movements as much until they got more intense. It caused little to no disturbance with small movements.
The DreamCloud Hybrid’s motion isolation capabilities make it comparable to luxury hybrid beds. Average persons may willingly look past it, but as for any light sleeper with an often restless partner beside them, this model may not be an ideal choice.
Edge Support
The DreamCloud Hybrid is said to provide great edge support with the help of reinforced steel coils around the perimeter/edges, but how accurate is this claim? We tested it by having volunteers lie on the edges of the bed and we found that the claim was mostly accurate. If a mattress has exceptional edge support, sleepers may likely take advantage of its surface without the imminent fear of sinking or falling off it.
Our volunteers can attest that the DreamCloud bed’s edges are able to support them well. However, our heavyweight rep stated otherwise. Those who weigh more than 230 lbs may not find this bed as supportive.
Noise
Innerspring coil beds are known for making loud squeaking sounds, particularly when they’re dealing with intense movement. The same sort of applies to a couple of hybrid beds with springs sandwiched in between layers of foam.
The DreamCloud Hybrid is a rare exception. During our two-week test period, no one noticed any annoying squeaking from the bed. It may have been constructed in a way that makes noise, or how the oil is wrapped up. Dreamcloud Logo
Ease of Movement
Ideally, mattresses made with a wide variety of materials should be able to strike a balance between contouring and ease of movement – the DreamCloud model achieves this by making its memory foam layer complimentary with other foam layers, not outshine them, therefore allowing it to conform the body’s shape like a light hug. Meanwhile, the coil system beneath the comfort layers should respond to movements quite well, resulting in easier navigation throughout the surface.
As our team tried to move around the bed, we spotted right away that it wasn’t entirely difficult to switch from one side of the surface to another. It would be fine if you were to perform motion-intensive activities on it.
Sex
Speaking of motion-intensive, we see a promising amount of potential in the DreamCloud Hybrid as an ideal bed for sexual activities. Folks who engage in sex once in a while may surely enjoy its ability to adapt to their movements swiftly. It makes a noticeable difference in noise, so it is possible to have discreet sex.
The medium-firm mattress may not be suitable for partners who prefer to sleep in one or more positions. The DreamCloud mattress is one of the best beds for sex. Dreamcloud Logo
Durability
As far as durability is concerned, the DreamCloud Hybrid, as we said before, is composed of high-quality materials and certified layers of foam. Plus, based on some of the reviews about the product that we could find, its overall quality and capabilities may hold up for not just a mere few weeks but months and even years!
How long this durability could last may change depending on the sleeper’s body type, how often they use it, or if they have one or two more persons who lay on its surface. Reflecting on our two-week testing period, we can all agree that the DreamCloud mattress stayed durable enough to not have its ability to provide comfort compromised. We believe it should remain this way for seven to eight more years. Dreamcloud Logo
Unboxing and Off-Gassing the DreamCloud
The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress comes packed neatly and compressed in a box. How heavy it is will entirely depend on the size you may prefer, with the lightest being the twin and the heaviest the King and Cal King. We noticed that many of our team members found it too heavy to transport alone when we opened the Queen-sized version for our tests. So, we added an additional person to ease the burden.
Other than the mattress, the box also contains a booklet with instructions and a pocket knife. This is especially useful if you don’t already have one. Once you roll it out from the box onto the bed frame where you’ll place it and it’s free from any form of packaging, you will need to wait between 24-48 hours until it’s fully decompressed. Since you’re going to encounter a fresh new mattress in front of you, expect it to emit a slightly off-putting odor.
Models made of synthetic foam layers tend to emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs) collected from manufacturing. Since the DreamCloud Hybrid’s foam layers are all CertiPUR-US-certified, the amount should be much less. Regardless, it’s important to leave it out for the smell to dissipate completely after a good day or two. To speed this process up, we suggest that you do so in a well-ventilated environment by opening up all the windows and doors in the room.
Available Sizes and Pricing
Stellar accommodations aside, one thing that the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress arguably shines lies in how it’s priced. This model sells at an affordable price due to the quality of its foundation and framework, as well as the type of materials it was made.
Plus, if you order it from DreamCloud’s official website, you may get to save plenty of money quite often with seasonal sales and discounts. You’re also rewarded with a free set of bedding, including pillowcases, sheets, and a mattress protector, to help make the set-up process simpler.

DreamCloud vs. Other Top Mattresses
Want to consider some options? We can help! Although the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is the most popular luxury hybrid model on the market, there are two alternatives that offer the same comfort and have unique features that it does not. Let’s take a look at each of them! Dreamcloud Logo
DreamCloud vs. Saatva
The Similarities: Much like the DreamCloud Hybrid, the original Saatva Classic mattress is a luxury hybrid bed that’s excellent in providing comfort and relief to the sleeper’s back. It’s also bouncy and responsive to movements, making it easier to navigate across the surface.
The Differences: Saatva is a bit more expensive than the DreamCloud Hybrid thanks partly to its construction – its coil system is more intricate, and the organic cotton-covered Euro pillowtop makes up for a more snug feeling. Unlike the latter which has only one, the former gives you more firmness options to cater to many different body types.
DreamCloud vs. Nectar
The Similarities: Both the Nectar Mattress and DreamCloud Hybrid are delivered in a box, so you and your companion will need to set them up on your own. Both are jam-packed with impressive temperature-regulating capabilities, offer year-long sleep trials, and even come from the same parent company, Resident.
The differences: The DreamCloud Hybrid bed is a hybrid, while Nectar is an all-foam mattress with a thick layer of memory foam between. It can adapt to many sleeping positions, not just the back. It is even recommended for side sleeping.
Our final thoughts: How is the DreamCloud Hybrid mattress holding up so far?
It’s clear that the DreamCloud Hybrid is an excellent luxury hybrid mattress. We have taken a closer look at it and are now fully testing it ourselves.
We’re impressed by how well it can accommodate and support the backs of most sleepers as it was able to relieve pressure points in certain areas, though the same can’t exactly be translated in terms of side and stomach sleeping. Considering the type of materials used and how it’s cleverly constructed, it’s sure to give folks a well-rounded experience that’s open to versatility – and at a surprisingly affordable price range, too!
Although the DreamCloud Hybrid’s medium-firm surface is inviting, it may not be for everyone. The bed is not strong enough to support 300-pounds or more. It’s evident that the bed is a welcome staple for couples and single sleepers alike.
You also have less to lose if it’s your decision to buy it. You’ll be given plenty of exclusive discount rates from DreamCloud’s official website, plus exceptionally responsive customer service teams to assist you along the way. For this and all the other good reasons regarding the DreamCloud Hybrid, there’s no doubt that we’re giving it a resounding 4.5/5 stars. It’s definitely worth the effort… and the purchase!
