We sent in four volunteers – each from three different weight groups – to sleep on the DreamCloud Hybrid in different sleeping positions on a two-week venture. The two lightweight (130 lbs below), and the heavyweight (230lbs above) sleepers are represented by the other two volunteers. The rest of the team represents the average group, 130-230 lbs, although one is only 155 lbs while the other is closer to 225.
Based on the data we collected over the past 14 days, it seems that most could agree that this mattress has the potential to accommodate a sizable range of positions and body weights but not exactly all of them. We would give the DreamCloud Hybrid a solid 7/10 on the firmness scale, which is medium firm. It’s plush enough to be comfortable, yet supportive enough to contour the body even in different positions. It’s also worth noting that the mattress was comfortable for two of the three volunteers immediately upon contact. The other took them several days to adjust.

Flat Stomach Sleeping
The DreamCloud mattress can provide exceptional contouring and spine alignment for most back sleepers. However, it is also suitable for side sleepers. There are some notable exceptions. Our average-weighted volunteers had mixed reactions to the mattress. The bed was able to support their bodies and align them well, with our 155-lb volunteer. Their 225-lb counterpart observed its top layers to be a bit soft under his hips but was able to experience a decent amount of support and comfort.
The DreamCloud Hybrid may be too soft for heavy people, especially those over 300 lbs. The representative of that group said her hips were sinking into her mattress when she lay on her stomach. It was so uncomfortable she couldn’t sleep in this position. Side sleeping
Side sleeping on the DreamCloud Hybrid is more common for those who are average in weight than the others. For folks who weigh between 130-190 lbs, they may receive an ample amount of contouring support, and the pressure along the hips and shoulders won’t be as much so they should be good. According to our 155-lb volunteer, the experience was worthwhile as they were able to rest well regardless if they switch to either side or stick to one. It’s different for those who are 190 or more.
Our heavyweight and 225-lb reps both felt that the mattress was uncomfortable to sleep on their sides. Both have experienced frequent sinking in their hips and shoulders, creating pressure points that may lead to minor concurrent pains. While heavier people may find the DreamCloud Hybrid soft, those less than 130 pounds may find it more firm to allow them to sleep well. This is what our lightweight volunteer can attest: she found it uncomfortable to sleep on one side for long periods of time, but it was quite comfortable when she switched sides. How heavy it is will entirely depend on the size you may prefer, with the lightest being the twin and the heaviest the King and Cal King.
