The DreamCloud: A closer look Dreamcloud Mattress Return
The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress stands out among the other luxury hybrid beds of today. It’s made from the same high-quality materials as all other hybrid beds, but it costs comparatively less. Its comfort level is advertised to be near the medium firm range, though leaning a bit slightly firm. Although it’s within the comfort range that most people would like to sleep on, it can be problematic for some.
The DreamCloud Hybrid has a profile of 14 inches. This hybrid design allows for more comfort and support. And, considering its overall construction which we’ll tackle later on, it allows folks with limited budgets to switch to a newer, better model from the old, worn-out one.
The DreamCloud Hybrid is the flagship product of DreamCloud, a US-based sleep specialist brand that provides its customers with a luxury-grade yet valuable bedroom experience. Apart from offering them a wide variety of bedding sets, pillows, and bed frames with a lot of designs to choose from, the firm also sells two more premium mattresses, the DreamCloud Premier and the DreamCloud Premium Rest.
While we will be focusing on the DreamCloud entry-level model, it is worth noting that both models are made from more expensive materials, which increases their price and comfort. We are not going to discourage you from purchasing the Original model. However, we will show later in this review that it can provide the same luxurious feel and cost-effectiveness as the other mattresses.
What does the general public think about DreamCloud?
The DreamCloud mattress, along with its sister models, has amassed over 10,000 reviews as of this writing. Many of these reviews are extremely positive. They range from how great it was to get a good night’s sleep to how much it is worth the price.
While it may manage to be exceptional enough to win people’s hearts, we shouldn’t fully ignore its fair share of criticisms it has received. The sleepers who say aren’t fully satisfied with the DreamCloud Hybrid have complained about how it was too soft or too firm for their liking. Many shared the pain they felt from not being able to sleep on it.
Any reaction that comes from using this product for a long period may yield mixed results since these can vary from person to person. The main factors that influence how a person feels about the product are their weight, age, climate, and preference for sleeping position. With that in mind, we can’t fully guarantee that the DreamCloud Hybrid may suit all sleep types. However, what we are sure of is that it may be an ideal choice for many who just want overall comfort in their sleep.
Who should use the DreamCloud?
- Strict back sleepers – This mattress is exceptional in its ability to provide ample comfort, spinal alignment, and much-needed pressure relief, especially for those who may have varying signs of back pain
- People who like to sleep on a firmer, medium-firm mattress
- Hot sleepers – The DreamCloud Hybrid is strategically designed with air pockets and gel infusion, a powerful combination that will keep you cool all night.
- People who want to upgrade to a luxurious mattress at a reasonable price
- Active couples or partners – Those who share the model with their partners can take advantage of its remarkable ease of movement.
- Senior citizens – The majority of seniors may have varying levels of chronic pain, particularly back pain. The DreamCloud Hybrid may help them to manage their pain.
Is there anyone who wouldn’t like this mattress?
- Side sleepers who are strict – Lightweight sleepers might find the bed’s surface more comfortable to lie on. Heavy sleepers, however, may sink more easily, causing pressure points to form.
- Heavyweight sleepers – Although this mattress might be able to support most body types, it may not have enough weight to support the heavier individuals.
- People who like a mattress with memory foam may prefer the DreamCloud mattress. However, it does not have the soft, sinking feel that memory foam lovers are looking for.
Testing the DreamCloud’s Firmness and Feel
Firmness is one of the very first things you may need to check if you’re looking for a new mattress. How firm or how soft it would turn out to be may either make you want to buy one or turn you off from it entirely. The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress’s comfort level may be advertised to be at 6.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale, but how accurate is its claim? To answer this, we tested out its overall firmness and feel to see for ourselves if DreamCloud is true to its word with its flagship mattress. Dreamcloud Mattress Return
We sent in four volunteers – each from three different weight groups – to sleep on the DreamCloud Hybrid in different sleeping positions on a two-week venture. The two lightweight (130 lbs below), and the heavyweight (230lbs above) sleepers are represented by the other two volunteers. The rest of the team represents the average group, 130-230 lbs, although one is only 155 lbs while the other is closer to 225.
Based on the data we collected over the past 14 days, it seems that most could agree that this mattress has the potential to accommodate a sizable range of positions and body weights but not exactly all of them. If we could rank the DreamCloud Hybrid, we’d give it a solid 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale – medium firm, for sure. It’s plush enough to be comfortable, yet supportive enough to contour the body even in different positions. Plus, it’s worth noting that two of the three volunteers found the mattress to receive comfort instantly upon contact, while the other admittedly took them a few days to adjust.
What does it feel like to sleep in different positions?
Flat Back Sleeping
We’ve found the DreamCloud Hybrid to be a great bed for back sleepers of all weight types. Based on what we know so far from our volunteers, no one seemed to have any issue with its firmness given that its construction is versatile enough to support the back well and keep the spine properly aligned. This one may be a good choice for light-weight sleepers. Not only should it feel supportive enough, but the top layers should allow them to lay on top as comfortable as possible.
Average-weighted individuals may like the DreamCloud Hybrid best as it should give them the perfect balance of relief and hold. The coils beneath the mattress should support their hips and sink into the mattress. It should feel similar to heavy sleepers, although those who are 300lbs or more might not feel it. They may also experience pressure if they sink too deeply. Dreamcloud Mattress Return
Flat Stomach Sleeping
The DreamCloud mattress can provide exceptional contouring and spine alignment for most back sleepers. However, it is also suitable for side sleepers. There are some notable exceptions. Our average-weighted volunteers had mixed reactions to the mattress. The bed was able to support their bodies and align them well, with our 155-lb volunteer. Their 225-lb counterpart observed its top layers to be a bit soft under his hips but was able to experience a decent amount of support and comfort.
The DreamCloud Hybrid may be too soft for heavy people, especially those over 300 lbs. Our representative from that group told us her hips were sinking into the mattress often whenever she laid on her stomach, and it reached the point where she found it a bit uncomfortable to sleep in this position. Although stomach sleepers with higher than average weights may have issues with the mattress, lighter people may be able to reap the benefits of this mattress better than others. Considering their build, their hips won’t be able to sink in as much, so they should feel as comfortable on their stomachs as with their backs.
Among the three weight groups, those of average weight are more likely to gain an upper hand when it comes to side sleeping on the DreamCloud Hybrid. People who weigh 130-190 lbs may find the DreamCloud Hybrid contouring support to be sufficient. However, the pressure on the hips, shoulders, and hips won’t be as intense as they should. Our volunteer of 155 lbs found that the experience was worth it as they were able rest well, regardless of whether they switched sides or stayed on one side. It’s different for those who are 190 or more.
Both our heavyweight and 225-lb reps have expressed that the mattress was a bit uncomfortable to sleep on sideways. Both experienced a lot of sinking in their hips, shoulders and hips. This can lead to pressure points that could cause minor concurrent pains. As heavier individuals may find the DreamCloud Hybrid to be soft under their weight, those who are lesser than 130 pounds may find it a little bit firmer sometimes to be able to sleep properly. This is what our lightweight volunteer can attest: she found it uncomfortable to sleep on one side for long periods of time, but it was quite comfortable when she switched sides. At this rate, minor adjustments are more likely expected.
Examining its Pain Relief Capabilities
While our volunteers had a lot of fun testing the DreamCloud Hybrid’s firmness, it was also possible to assess how effective it is in pain relief. We set up a pressure map over the mattress and asked our volunteers to lie on their stomachs, backs, and sides to determine if there was any pressure difference.
We believe that the DreamCloud Hybrid can provide excellent pressure relief for most sleepers. Except for the folks who weigh more than 300 lbs, most sleepers may be able to find comfort and relaxation on the spot – the bed’s layers, including the memory foam, are enough to support their weight equally and contour their silhouette very well, resulting in low pressure across the board. The mattress creates very few pressure points, which means that back pains are less likely to occur. This is especially important for seniors and people who have back problems.
In terms of sleeping on the stomach, expect the DreamCloud Hybrid to produce a decent yet everchanging share of pressure points, particularly along the hips. Lightweight and average sleepers may be able to rest soundly without the imminent fear of pent-up pressure, but heavyweight ones, especially those whose structure is adjacent to 300lbs, may need to watch out as too much sinking may lead to an increase in pressure points. Dreamcloud Mattress Return
We found significant pressure points for most body types when it came to side sleep. It doesn’t matter what your weight, side sleeping on the DreamCloud Hybrid will cause discomfort. The problem is worse for those who are heavier. For instance, lighter sleepers may not find the mattress comfortable in this position, while heavier sleepers may feel more pain in their hips and shoulders. This is where the DreamCloud mattress can be a little bit of a problem.
How to Dismantle Its Construction
What is the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress exactly made of? Standing 14 inches tall, the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is packed with noteworthy qualities that help keep the sleeper relaxed and cool throughout the night. It’s equipped with exceptional cooling capabilities to keep the body cool and prevent heat buildup, making it a top-performing hybrid model.
Built using high-quality CertiPUR-US-certified foam layers of varying firmnesses with a thin tier of memory foam in between, it’s also backed with a set of strong innerspring coils to hold the body together. To know more about its construction, let’s take a more in-depth look beyond the DreamCloud mattress’s covers.
Layer 1: Cashmere Blend Cover
Cashmere wool is known for its soft touch and luxurious feel. DreamCloud incorporated this in the cover for its signature mattress model. The quilt’s cloud-patterned design, which is splayed across the mattress, invites the user to lay down on the bed. The material is breathable and has excellent temperature-regulating characteristics to help cool the sleeper at night.
Layer 2: Contouring Soft foam
The mattress cover is quilted so you won’t be able to guess what material it is. Quilted under the cashmere-blend cover, lays a supportive plush soft polyfoam designed to provide ample cushioning and support around the body’s weight. With 1 1/2 inches worth of material, this layer helps give off a pillow-top feel that users may likely experience upon contact with the bed – all without the worries about breaking the bank.
Layer 3: Memory Foam Layer
Memory foam has been well-known for its ability to adapt to the body and provide relief from pressure points. The DreamCloud Hybrid has it placed underneath the quilted top layer. It measures one inch and is just right to support the sleeper, but it doesn’t give off a sinking sensation. Although this material is known for trapping heat well, DreamCloud has incorporated gel infusion to help cool the body.
Layer 4: Polyfoam Transition Layer
Beneath the memory foam is a two-inch firm polyfoam that serves as a transitional layer between the soft part of the mattress and the base foundation of the coils. It serves two purposes: 1) it conforms the body’s posture and shape to the coils; and 2) it keeps it from sinking further into the mattress, which can be very inconvenient.
Layer 5: Innerspring Coils
The DreamCloud Hybrid’s foundation is made up of an entire system of individually wrapped innerspring coils. Contributing to the total height of the mattress at just 8 1/2 inches, each spring is enrobed with a breathable fiber – this way, it should help maximize the bed’s cooling capabilities, letting more air in and more heat from the body out. The coils can be responsive to the sleeper’s changing movements very well. However, the perimeters of the mattress are strategically strengthened with stronger steel to provide better edge support.
Layer 6: Stability Base Layer
A thick layer of standard high-density foam is found beneath the coil set. Since it serves as part of the foundation that holds the mattress together, it comes as solid and sturdy enough to secure the springs from moving too much, yet also thin enough to allow Dreamcloud Mattress Return
They will bounce back. It won’t feel as if it were there, but you will be able to appreciate the fact that it is there to prevent it from falling apart.
Layer 7: Shift-Resistant Lower Cover
A tufted cover is added to complete the package. It will keep all layers of the DreamCloud Hybrid safe and sound. Although it’s not considered a layer that makes up the bed per se, it’s built for the sole purpose to secure the foundation that holds it. The mattress’s round borders are embellished with tufted decor. It also has four sides handles that are sewn into the side to make it easy to transport.
How Well Did the DreamCloud Perform?
A perfect mattress should be able to adapt to the sleeper’s needs. Other than being able to accommodate their body type and preferred sleeping position, there are other important factors that should be considered. This includes their habits and climate. Within our two-week testing period, we got to run a series of performance tests to see if the DreamCloud Hybrid has what it takes as an integral staple in the bedroom.
The DreamCloud Hybrid promises to be equipped with excellent cooling abilities, and we couldn’t agree more when we checked the temperature of one of our volunteers through a thermal camera scanner. This is all thanks to its mix of temperature-regulating materials embedded within the mattress: the gel-infused memory foam layer, the breathable cashmere cover, and the coils that encourage more air to pass through.
This model is ideal for couples or individuals who live in hot climates.
Considering what it’s made of and how it functions, the DreamCloud mattress may not fully absorb a person’s motions, but it does a decent job, regardless. When we had two of our volunteers test it out for motion transfer, we first noticed that one of them wasn’t able to feel another’s changing movements as much until they got more intense. It caused little to no disturbance with small movements.
Similar to most luxury hybrid beds, the DreamCloud Hybrid’s motion isolation capabilities are fairly bearable. This model is not recommended for light sleepers with a restless partner.
The DreamCloud Hybrid is said to provide great edge support with the help of reinforced steel coils around the perimeter/edges, but how accurate is this claim? When we checked it out by letting out volunteers sit and lie along the edges of the bed, we then found out that it was mostly true, though not entirely. If a mattress has exceptional edge support, sleepers may likely take advantage of its surface without the imminent fear of sinking or falling off it.
While most of our volunteers could attest to the DreamCloud bed’s edges being able to support them decently well, our heavyweight rep said otherwise – those who weigh 230 and beyond may not find this bed supportive enough.
Beds with innerspring coils as their foundation are notorious for making significant squeaking noises, especially coming to terms with intense movement. The same sort of applies to a couple of hybrid beds with springs sandwiched in between layers of foam.
The DreamCloud Hybrid is a rare exception. During our two-week test period, no one noticed any annoying squeaking from the bed. It may have been constructed in a way that makes noise, or how the oil is wrapped up. Dreamcloud Mattress Return
Mobility made easy
A mattress made from a variety of materials should have the ability to balance contouring and movement. The DreamCloud model does this by making its memory layer compatible with other foam layers. It conforms to the body like a hug. The coil system underneath the comfort layers should be responsive to movement, which will make navigation easier throughout the surface.
Our team discovered that the bed was easy to move around. If you plan to do some motion-intensive activities on the bed, especially, you wouldn’t have any issues with it.
Speaking of motion-intensive, we see a promising amount of potential in the DreamCloud Hybrid as an ideal bed for sexual activities. Folks who engage in sex once in a while may surely enjoy its ability to adapt to their movements swiftly. It makes a noticeable difference in noise, so it is possible to have discreet sex.
Being a medium-firm bed, partners who prefer to do one or three positions may not find enough hugging along the surface to keep them at least secure. The DreamCloud mattress is one of the best beds for sex. Dreamcloud Mattress Return
As far as durability is concerned, the DreamCloud Hybrid, as we said before, is composed of high-quality materials and certified layers of foam. Plus, based on some of the reviews about the product that we could find, its overall quality and capabilities may hold up for not just a mere few weeks but months and even years!
The length of this durability will depend on how frequently the user uses it and if there are any additional people who sleep on it. Reflecting on our two-week testing period, we can all agree that the DreamCloud mattress stayed durable enough to not have its ability to provide comfort compromised. That being said, we believe that it should stay this way for at least seven to eight years. Dreamcloud Mattress Return
Unboxing and Off-Gassing the DreamCloud
The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is neatly packed and sealed in a box. The size of the mattress will determine how heavy it is. The twin is the lightest and Cal King and King are the most heavy. When we unboxed the Queen-sized version to be used for our tests, we noticed that some of our teammates find it quite heavy to carry it alone, so from that point onwards we needed an extra person to help ease the burden.
Other than the mattress, the box also contains a booklet with instructions and a pocket knife. This is especially useful if you don’t already have one. Once you roll it out from the box onto the bed frame where you’ll place it and it’s free from any form of packaging, you will need to wait between 24-48 hours until it’s fully decompressed. Expect a slight off-putting smell because you will be interacting with a brand new mattress.
Models made from synthetic foam layers are more likely to emit volatile organic chemicals (VOCs), which can be collected during manufacturing. Since the DreamCloud Hybrid’s foam layers are all CertiPUR-US-certified, the amount should be much less. Regardless, it’s important to leave it out for the smell to dissipate completely after a good day or two. We recommend that you open all windows and doors to the room in order to speed up this process.
Available Sizes and Pricing
Stellar accommodations aside, one thing that the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress arguably shines lies in how it’s priced. Factoring in the kind of materials used in its inception and the remarkable quality of its framework and foundation, it’s no wonder that this model is sold at a range of competitive yet affordable prices.
Plus, if you order it from DreamCloud’s official website, you may get to save plenty of money quite often with seasonal sales and discounts. To make it easier, you will receive a set of bedding including sheets, pillowcases and a mattress protector.
The DreamCloud Hybrid is currently sold in six standard sizes, with original prices starting from $799 onwards. For more information, including pricing, dimensions and weight, please see the table below.

DreamCloud vs. other top mattresses
You want to look at other options? We can help! Although the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is the most popular luxury hybrid model on the market, there are two alternatives that offer the same comfort and have unique features that it does not. Let’s take a closer look at each one! Dreamcloud Mattress Return
DreamCloud vs. Saatva
The Similarities: Much like the DreamCloud Hybrid, the original Saatva Classic mattress is a luxury hybrid bed that’s excellent in providing comfort and relief to the sleeper’s back. It’s also bouncy and responsive to movements, making it easier to navigate across the surface.
The differences: Saatva costs a little more than DreamCloud Hybrid due to its more complex coil system and Euro-coated cotton pillowtop. Unlike the latter which has only one, the former gives you more firmness options to cater to many different body types.
DreamCloud vs. Nectar
The Similarities: Both the Nectar Mattress and DreamCloud Hybrid are delivered in a box, so you and your companion will need to set them up on your own. Both are jam-packed with impressive temperature-regulating capabilities, offer year-long sleep trials, and even come from the same parent company, Resident.
The Differences: While the DreamCloud Hybrid is a hybrid bed, Nectar is all-foam, with an extra thick layer of memory foam in between. This means it can easily adapt to a wide range of sleeping positions than just the back. It is even recommended for side sleeping.
Our final thoughts: How is the DreamCloud Hybrid mattress holding up so far?
It’s clear that the DreamCloud Hybrid is an excellent luxury hybrid mattress. We have taken a closer look at it and are now fully testing it ourselves.
We’re impressed by how well it can accommodate and support the backs of most sleepers as it was able to relieve pressure points in certain areas, though the same can’t exactly be translated in terms of side and stomach sleeping. It’s a great choice for anyone looking for a versatile and well-constructed experience.
Although the DreamCloud Hybrid’s medium-firm surface is inviting, it may not be for everyone. We found that the bed does not have enough to hold well for those who weigh as heavy as 300 lbs, more or less. Regardless, it’s clear that it has what it takes as a welcoming staple for solo sleepers, couples, and even families!
Additionally, you have much less to lose if you decide to purchase it. DreamCloud offers a variety of discounts and has a responsive customer support team to help you. We give the DreamCloud Hybrid a solid 4.5/5 star rating due to all these great reasons. It’s definitely worth the effort… and the purchase! Dreamcloud Mattress Return
FAQ Dreamcloud Mattress Return
What is DreamCloud’s warranty period? How does it work?
DreamCloud provides a lifetime warranty to its customers. This means that the company will replace or repair its mattress if it sustains significant damage over the years. This can be utilized if the bed slowly compresses and forms impressions at least 1.5 inches deep, sustains material flaws, or comes with manufacturing defects immediately upon purchase.
DreamCloud offers a lifetime warranty on all purchases made through its official website.
How long is DreamCloud’s sleep trial?
Authentic DreamCloud mattresses, including its original hybrid model, come with a 365-night Home Trial period. Compared to other mattress specialists that offer shorter 180-night trials, DreamCloud encourages you to familiarize yourself and test the waters with your purchase for a full year, giving you more time to decide if it’s the right fit.
What happens if I return the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress within the sleep trial? And does it apply after it ends?
All of DreamCloud’s available mattress models are eligible for returns within the 365-night sleep trial. Should you ever feel unhappy and decide to return your purchase within the period, its Sleep Concierge team will be more than happy to assist you with what to do with the mattress, on top of being able to give you a full refund. If you are not satisfied with the mattress, you can exchange it for a new one once you have received your money. Dreamcloud Mattress Return
As far as returns after the trial period ends are concerned: unfortunately, the mattress will not be eligible once the time has passed. You wouldn’t be eligible for a refund, either.
What countries does the DreamCloud Hybrid typically ship to?
As this applies to all purchases made within the official web store, the DreamCloud Hybrid as well as its other models are shipped to your address completely free of charge – that is, if you live within the contingent U.S. An additional $150 will be charged to mattresses delivered to Alaska and Hawai’i.
DreamCloud doesn’t ship products to the United States from its website. This includes Puerto Rico, Guam, and other countries. It does have a Amazon.com certified storefront that allows you to ship any product internationally. Dreamcloud Mattress Return
