We sent in four volunteers – each from three different weight groups – to sleep on the DreamCloud Hybrid in different sleeping positions on a two-week venture. The two lightweight (130 lbs below), and the heavyweight (230lbs above) sleepers are represented by the other two volunteers. The rest of the team represents the average group, 130-230 lbs, although one is only 155 lbs while the other is closer to 225.
Based on the data we collected over the past 14 days, it seems that most could agree that this mattress has the potential to accommodate a sizable range of positions and body weights but not exactly all of them. If we could rank the DreamCloud Hybrid, we’d give it a solid 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale – medium firm, for sure. It’s plush enough to be comfortable, yet supportive enough to contour the body even in different positions. Flat Back Sleeping
The DreamCloud Hybrid is a great choice for back sleepers of any weight. Based on what we know so far from our volunteers, no one seemed to have any issue with its firmness given that its construction is versatile enough to support the back well and keep the spine properly aligned. Lightweight sleepers may enjoy this one – not only should they feel supported enough, but its top layers should also give them the feeling of being able to lie on top as comfortably as possible.
The DreamCloud Hybrid may be the best choice for average-weighted people. It should provide them with the right balance of support and relief. Their hips, in particular, should sink into the mattress very nicely while the coils underneath support them. Heavyweight sleepers should also feel the same to some extent, but those who weigh around 300lbs or more may not find it suitable since they may sink in too much to the point where pressure is produced. Flat Stomach Sleeping
While the DreamCloud mattress may provide most back sleepers with exceptional contouring and spinal alignment, the same can apply to side sleepers, though there are a few notable exceptions. Our average-weighted volunteers had mixed reactions to the mattress. The bed was able to support their bodies and align them well, with our 155-lb volunteer. Side Sleeping
Among the three weight groups, those of average weight are more likely to gain an upper hand when it comes to side sleeping on the DreamCloud Hybrid. People who weigh 130-190 lbs may find the DreamCloud Hybrid contouring support to be sufficient. However, the pressure on the hips, shoulders, and hips won’t be as intense as they should. According to our 155-lb volunteer, the experience was worthwhile as they were able to rest well regardless if they switch to either side or stick to one. For those who weigh 190 lbs onwards, it’s a different story.
Our heavyweight and 225-lb reps both felt that the mattress was uncomfortable to sleep on their sides. Both have experienced frequent sinking in their hips and shoulders, creating pressure points that may lead to minor concurrent pains. As heavier individuals may find the DreamCloud Hybrid to be soft under their weight, those who are lesser than 130 pounds may find it a little bit firmer sometimes to be able to sleep properly. Motion Transfer

Unboxing and Off-Gassing the DreamCloud
The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress comes packed neatly and compressed in a box. The size of the mattress will determine how heavy it is. The twin is the lightest and Cal King and King are the most heavy. When we unboxed the Queen-sized version to be used for our tests, we noticed that some of our teammates find it quite heavy to carry it alone, so from that point onwards we needed an extra person to help ease the burden.
Other than the mattress, the box also contains a booklet with instructions and a pocket knife. This is especially useful if you don’t already have one. After you have rolled it out of the box onto your bed frame, it will be fully compressed. You should wait between 24-48 hours.
