Four volunteers were sent from three weight groups to try out the DreamCloud Hybrid. They were placed in various sleeping positions for a two-week period. Two of them represent the lightweight (130 lbs below) and heavyweight (230 lbs above) sleepers, respectively, while the rest of the team represents the average group (130-230 lbs), although one weighs 155 lbs and the other is close to 225 lbs.
Based on the data we collected over the past 14 days, it seems that most could agree that this mattress has the potential to accommodate a sizable range of positions and body weights but not exactly all of them. We would give the DreamCloud Hybrid a solid 7/10 on the firmness scale, which is medium firm. It’s plush enough to be comfortable, yet supportive enough to contour the body even in different positions. Flat Stomach Sleeping
The DreamCloud mattress can provide exceptional contouring and spine alignment for most back sleepers. However, it is also suitable for side sleepers. There are some notable exceptions. Our representative from that group told us her hips were sinking into the mattress often whenever she laid on her stomach, and it reached the point where she found it a bit uncomfortable to sleep in this position. Side Sleeping
Side sleeping on the DreamCloud Hybrid is more common for those who are average in weight than the others. People who weigh 130-190 lbs may find the DreamCloud Hybrid contouring support to be sufficient. However, the pressure on the hips, shoulders, and hips won’t be as intense as they should. According to our 155-lb volunteer, the experience was worthwhile as they were able to rest well regardless if they switch to either side or stick to one. It’s different for those who are 190 or more.
Both our heavyweight and 225-lb reps have expressed that the mattress was a bit uncomfortable to sleep on sideways. Both experienced a lot of sinking in their hips, shoulders and hips. This can lead to pressure points that could cause minor concurrent pains. As heavier individuals may find the DreamCloud Hybrid to be soft under their weight, those who are lesser than 130 pounds may find it a little bit firmer sometimes to be able to sleep properly. The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is neatly packed and sealed in a box. How heavy it is will entirely depend on the size you may prefer, with the lightest being the twin and the heaviest the King and Cal King. When we unboxed the Queen-sized version to be used for our tests, we noticed that some of our teammates find it quite heavy to carry it alone, so from that point onwards we needed an extra person to help ease the burden.
Apart from the mattress, other contents inside the box include a handy booklet for instructions and a free pocket knife that you may use to open it up from the plastic packaging – that is, especially if you don’t have one of your own.
