A Closer Look into the DreamCloud Tuft Dreamcloud

The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is a standout among luxury hybrid beds. It’s made from the same high-quality materials as all other hybrid beds, but it costs comparatively less. Although it is listed as being in the medium firm range, its comfort level is slightly more firm than average. Although it’s within the comfort range that most people would like to sleep on, it can be problematic for some.

With a profile measured at 14 inches, the DreamCloud Hybrid may be a handy upgrade for people who may have been used to sleeping in lower beds, as its hybrid nature allows them to lay more comfortably with extra cushioning and layers underneath for support. Its overall construction, which we’ll discuss later, allows people with limited budgets the opportunity to upgrade to a better model than their old one.

DreamCloud Hybrid, the flagship product of DreamCloud USA, is a US-based sleep specialist brand. It offers its customers a luxurious-grade but valuable bedroom experience. The firm sells DreamCloud Premier and DreamCloud Premium Rest premium mattresses.

While we will be focusing on the DreamCloud entry-level model, it is worth noting that both models are made from more expensive materials, which increases their price and comfort. We are not going to discourage you from purchasing the Original model. However, we will show later in this review that it can provide the same luxurious feel and cost-effectiveness as the other mattresses.

How Does the General Public Feel About DreamCloud?

As of this writing, the DreamCloud mattress and its sister models have received over 10,000 reviews. Many of these reviews are extremely positive. They range from how great it was to get a good night’s sleep to how much it is worth the price.

It may be unique enough to win hearts, but we can’t ignore the criticisms it has faced. Some sleepers have expressed dissatisfaction with the DreamCloud Hybrid, claiming it was too soft and too firm. Many shared the pain they felt from not being able to sleep on it.

Any reaction that comes from using this product for a long period may yield mixed results since these can vary from person to person. How much a sleeper weighs, how old they are, which climate they live in, and what type of position they prefer whenever they rest are among the major factors that will contribute to what they ultimately feel about this product. With that in mind, we can’t fully guarantee that the DreamCloud Hybrid may suit all sleep types. However, what we are sure of is that it may be an ideal choice for many who just want overall comfort in their sleep.

Who Should Use the DreamCloud?

  • For those with a strict back, this mattress is ideal in providing ample comfort and spinal alignment.
  • People who like to sleep on a firmer, medium-firm mattress
  • Hot sleepers – The DreamCloud Hybrid’s strategically designed with gel infusion and air pockets, a powerful combination guaranteed to keep the individual cool throughout the night
  • People who are interested in upgrading to a luxury mattress at an affordable price
  • Active couples or partners – Those who share the model with their partners can take advantage of its remarkable ease of movement.
  • Senior citizens – A majority of this age group may suffer varying degrees of chronic pain, especially back pain, and the DreamCloud Hybrid may be their best bet in serving their needs

Is there anyone who wouldn’t like this mattress?

  • Side sleepers who are strict – Lightweight sleepers might find the bed’s surface more comfortable to lie on. Heavy sleepers, however, may sink more easily, causing pressure points to form.
  • Heavyweight sleepers – Though this mattress may be able to accommodate most body types, it may not be enough to carry the weight of individuals who lean more towards the heavier categories
  • Folks who prefer a mattress with memory foam – The DreamCloud mattress may have a memory foam layer, but it may not provide what memory foam fans are exactly looking for: a soft, sinking feeling they get when they lie in bed

Test the DreamCloud’s Firmness & Feel

Firmness is one of the very first things you may need to check if you’re looking for a new mattress. It can make it easy to decide whether it is too firm or soft, or whether you are tempted to buy it. The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress’s comfort level may be advertised to be at 6.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale, but how accurate is its claim? We tested the mattress’ overall firmness and felt to find out if DreamCloud is a true brand with its flagship mattress. Tuft Dreamcloud

We sent in four volunteers – each from three different weight groups – to sleep on the DreamCloud Hybrid in different sleeping positions on a two-week venture. The two lightweight (130 lbs below), and the heavyweight (230lbs above) sleepers are represented by the other two volunteers. The rest of the team represents the average group, 130-230 lbs, although one is only 155 lbs while the other is closer to 225.

Based on the data we collected over the past 14 days, it seems that most could agree that this mattress has the potential to accommodate a sizable range of positions and body weights but not exactly all of them. We would give the DreamCloud Hybrid a solid 7/10 on the firmness scale, which is medium firm. It’s plush enough to be comfortable, yet supportive enough to contour the body even in different positions. Plus, it’s worth noting that two of the three volunteers found the mattress to receive comfort instantly upon contact, while the other admittedly took them a few days to adjust.

How Does It Feel in Different Sleeping Positions?

Flat Back Sleeping

The DreamCloud Hybrid is a great choice for back sleepers of any weight. Based on what we know so far from our volunteers, no one seemed to have any issue with its firmness given that its construction is versatile enough to support the back well and keep the spine properly aligned. This one may be a good choice for light-weight sleepers. Not only should it feel supportive enough, but the top layers should allow them to lay on top as comfortable as possible.

The DreamCloud Hybrid may be the best choice for average-weighted people. It should provide them with the right balance of support and relief. The coils beneath the mattress should support their hips and sink into the mattress. It should feel similar to heavy sleepers, although those who are 300lbs or more might not feel it. They may also experience pressure if they sink too deeply. Tuft Dreamcloud

Flat Stomach Sleeping

While the DreamCloud mattress may provide most back sleepers with exceptional contouring and spinal alignment, the same can apply to side sleepers, though there are a few notable exceptions. Reactions are mixed for our average-weighted sleepers – our 155-lb volunteer found the bed to be able to support and align their body quite well. Their 225-lb counterpart observed its top layers to be a bit soft under his hips but was able to experience a decent amount of support and comfort.

The DreamCloud Hybrid may be too soft for heavy people, especially those over 300 lbs. The representative of that group said her hips were sinking into her mattress when she lay on her stomach. It was so uncomfortable she couldn’t sleep in this position. Although stomach sleepers with higher than average weights may have issues with the mattress, lighter people may be able to reap the benefits of this mattress better than others. Because of their body, their hips will not be able sink in as much. Therefore, they should feel just as comfortable on their stomachs than their backs.

Side sleeping

Among the three weight groups, those of average weight are more likely to gain an upper hand when it comes to side sleeping on the DreamCloud Hybrid. For folks who weigh between 130-190 lbs, they may receive an ample amount of contouring support, and the pressure along the hips and shoulders won’t be as much so they should be good. Our volunteer of 155 lbs found that the experience was worth it as they were able rest well, regardless of whether they switched sides or stayed on one side. For those who weigh 190 lbs onwards, it’s a different story.

Our heavyweight and 225-lb reps both felt that the mattress was uncomfortable to sleep on their sides. Both have experienced frequent sinking in their hips and shoulders, creating pressure points that may lead to minor concurrent pains. While heavier people may find the DreamCloud Hybrid soft, those less than 130 pounds may find it more firm to allow them to sleep well. Our lightweight volunteer can attest to this: when she tried to rest strictly on one side for a prolonged period, she felt as if the top layers were too firm at times, but when it came to sleeping with her sides interchanged, it turned out to be decently comfortable. At this rate, minor adjustments are more likely expected.

Its Pain Relief Capabilities

As our volunteers were having a ball with testing the DreamCloud Hybrid’s firmness, we also managed to examine how well it fared in terms of pain relief. To do this, we set up a pressure map on top of the mattress, and, once that was done, we asked the four volunteers to lay on the back, stomach, and both sides of their bodies to see if there was any significant pressure difference that we could spot right away.

Based on what we observed, it’s clear at this point that the DreamCloud Hybrid could create excellent pressure relief along the back for most sleeper groups. Most people, except for those who are over 300 lbs, will find comfort and relaxation right away. The bed’s layers, which include the memory foam, are sufficient to support their weight and contour their bodies very well. This results in low pressure throughout the entire body. The mattress creates very few pressure points, which means that back pains are less likely to occur. This is especially important for seniors and people who have back problems.

In terms of sleeping on the stomach, expect the DreamCloud Hybrid to produce a decent yet everchanging share of pressure points, particularly along the hips. While light-weight sleepers and those who are average may be able rest comfortably without worrying about pent up pressure, heavy-weight sleepers, particularly those with 300-pound structures, might need to be cautious as excessive sinking could lead to increased pressure points. Tuft Dreamcloud

We found significant pressure points for most body types when it came to side sleep. No matter how much you weigh, it’s likely that laying sideways on the surface of the DreamCloud Hybrid may make you prone to varying degrees of discomfort, and it gets much worse if you’re heavier. For instance, lighter sleepers may not find the mattress comfortable in this position, while heavier sleepers may feel more pain in their hips and shoulders. This is where the DreamCloud mattress can be a little bit of a problem.

Breaking Down Its Construction

What exactly is the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress made of? Standing 14 inches tall, the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is packed with noteworthy qualities that help keep the sleeper relaxed and cool throughout the night. It’s equipped with exceptional cooling capabilities to keep the body cool and prevent heat buildup, making it a top-performing hybrid model.

Built using high-quality CertiPUR-US-certified foam layers of varying firmnesses with a thin tier of memory foam in between, it’s also backed with a set of strong innerspring coils to hold the body together. Let’s look at the DreamCloud mattress’s construction.

Layer 1: Cashmere Blend Cover

Cashmere wool has been historically known for being soft to the touch and luxurious in its feel. It’s for this reason that DreamCloud chose to incorporate this into the cover of its signature mattress model. Splayed across the surface, its cloud-patterned quilt design is enough to invite the person to lie on the bed freely. The material is breathable and has excellent temperature-regulating characteristics to help cool the sleeper at night.

Layer 2: Contouring Soft Foam

The mattress cover is quilted so you won’t be able to guess what material it is. Quilted under the cashmere-blend cover, lays a supportive plush soft polyfoam designed to provide ample cushioning and support around the body’s weight. This layer, which is 1 1/2 inches in thickness, gives off a pillow-top feeling that most users will likely feel upon touching the bed.

Layer 3: Memory Foam Layer

Memory foam has been well-known for its ability to adapt to the body and provide relief from pressure points. The DreamCloud Hybrid has it placed underneath the quilted top layer. Measuring one inch, it’s appropriate enough to support the sleeper well, but not enough to produce a familiar sinking feeling. This material may be notorious for trapping heat, but DreamCloud fixes this by incorporating gel infusion, allowing their body temperature to be cooled down further along with the indented cover.

Layer 4: Layer of Transition Polyfoam

Beneath the memory foam is a two-inch firm polyfoam that serves as a transitional layer between the soft part of the mattress and the base foundation of the coils. It serves two purposes: 1) it conforms the body’s posture and shape to the coils; and 2) it keeps it from sinking further into the mattress, which can be very inconvenient.

Layer 5: Innerspring Coils

The DreamCloud Hybrid’s foundation is made up of an entire system of individually wrapped innerspring coils. Each spring is 8 1/2 inches tall. This contributes to the mattress’s overall height. While most of the coils can respond to the sleeper’s ever-changing movements well, the perimeters are designed to be strategically fortified using stronger steel, effectively making way for better edge support.

Layer 6: Stability Base Layer

Situated beneath the coil set is an inch-thick layer of high-density standard foam. Since it serves as part of the foundation that holds the mattress together, it comes as solid and sturdy enough to secure the springs from moving too much, yet also thin enough to allow Tuft Dreamcloud

They will bounce back. You will not exactly feel it since it’s placed well below, but at least you can appreciate that it’s just there to keep it from falling apart.

Layer 7: Shift-Resistant Lower Cover

A tufted cover is added to complete the package. It will keep all layers of the DreamCloud Hybrid safe and sound. It’s not considered the bed’s main layer, but it serves the sole purpose of protecting the foundation. The mattress’s round borders are embellished with tufted decor. It also has four sides handles that are sewn into the side to make it easy to transport.

What was the DreamCloud’s Performance?

The perfect mattress should adapt to the individual’s needs. Other than being able to accommodate their body type and preferred sleeping position, there are other important factors that should be considered. This includes their habits and climate. Within our two-week testing period, we got to run a series of performance tests to see if the DreamCloud Hybrid has what it takes as an integral staple in the bedroom.

Temperature Control

The DreamCloud Hybrid is said to have excellent cooling capabilities. We were pleasantly surprised when one of our volunteers was tested by a thermal scanner. This is all thanks to its mix of temperature-regulating materials embedded within the mattress: the gel-infused memory foam layer, the breathable cashmere cover, and the coils that encourage more air to pass through.

Individuals living in hot climates or couples may look for a bed that doesn’t trap too much heat for them to end up uncomfortable, and this model could be their best bet.

Motion Transfer

The DreamCloud mattress is made from a combination of materials and functions. It may not absorb all motions but it does a good job. When we had two of our volunteers test it out for motion transfer, we first noticed that one of them wasn’t able to feel another’s changing movements as much until they got more intense. When it came to small movements, it resulted in a lesser to no sign of disturbance.

The DreamCloud Hybrid’s motion isolation capabilities make it comparable to luxury hybrid beds. Average persons may willingly look past it, but as for any light sleeper with an often restless partner beside them, this model may not be an ideal choice.

Edge Support

DreamCloud Hybrid claims to offer great edge support thanks to reinforced steel coils placed around the edges and perimeter. But how accurate is that claim? When we checked it out by letting out volunteers sit and lie along the edges of the bed, we then found out that it was mostly true, though not entirely. If a mattress has exceptional edge support, sleepers may likely take advantage of its surface without the imminent fear of sinking or falling off it.

Our volunteers can attest that the DreamCloud bed’s edges are able to support them well. However, our heavyweight rep stated otherwise. Those who weigh more than 230 lbs may not find this bed as supportive.

Noise

Beds with innerspring coils as their foundation are notorious for making significant squeaking noises, especially coming to terms with intense movement. This is also true for hybrid beds that have springs interspersed between layers of foam.

The DreamCloud Hybrid is a rare exception. During our two-week test period, no one noticed any annoying squeaking from the bed. The way it was constructed or the method of wrapping up each oil may be a contributing factor, but regardless, with this model, noise shouldn’t be a huge worry for many. Tuft Dreamcloud

Mobility made easy

Ideally, mattresses made with a wide variety of materials should be able to strike a balance between contouring and ease of movement – the DreamCloud model achieves this by making its memory foam layer complimentary with other foam layers, not outshine them, therefore allowing it to conform the body’s shape like a light hug. The coil system underneath the comfort layers should be responsive to movement, which will make navigation easier throughout the surface.

As our team tried to move around the bed, we spotted right away that it wasn’t entirely difficult to switch from one side of the surface to another. It would be fine if you were to perform motion-intensive activities on it.

Sex

Speaking of motion-intensive, we see a promising amount of potential in the DreamCloud Hybrid as an ideal bed for sexual activities. Folks who engage in sex once in a while may surely enjoy its ability to adapt to their movements swiftly. It makes a noticeable difference in noise, so it is possible to have discreet sex.

The medium-firm mattress may not be suitable for partners who prefer to sleep in one or more positions. Regardless, the DreamCloud mattress fits the bill as one of our best beds for sex. Tuft Dreamcloud

Durability

The DreamCloud Hybrid is durable, thanks to its high-quality materials, certified foam layers, and other features. Plus, based on some of the reviews about the product that we could find, its overall quality and capabilities may hold up for not just a mere few weeks but months and even years!

The length of this durability will depend on how frequently the user uses it and if there are any additional people who sleep on it. Reflecting on our two-week testing period, we can all agree that the DreamCloud mattress stayed durable enough to not have its ability to provide comfort compromised. That being said, we believe that it should stay this way for at least seven to eight years. Tuft Dreamcloud

Unboxing and off-gassing the DreamCloud

The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress comes packed neatly and compressed in a box. The size of the mattress will determine how heavy it is. The twin is the lightest and Cal King and King are the most heavy. We noticed that many of our team members found it too heavy to transport alone when we opened the Queen-sized version for our tests. So, we added an additional person to ease the burden.

Other than the mattress, the box also contains a booklet with instructions and a pocket knife. This is especially useful if you don’t already have one. After you have rolled it out of the box onto your bed frame, it will be fully compressed. You should wait between 24-48 hours. Since you’re going to encounter a fresh new mattress in front of you, expect it to emit a slightly off-putting odor.

Models made from synthetic foam layers are more likely to emit volatile organic chemicals (VOCs), which can be collected during manufacturing. Since the DreamCloud Hybrid’s foam layers are all CertiPUR-US-certified, the amount should be much less. It is important to let it sit out so that the smell can dissipate after a few days. We recommend that you open all windows and doors to the room in order to speed up this process.

Available Sizes and Pricing

The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is not only a great mattress, but it also has some amazing features. This model sells at an affordable price due to the quality of its foundation and framework, as well as the type of materials it was made.

You may also save money if you order from DreamCloud’s official site. To make it easier, you will receive a set of bedding including sheets, pillowcases and a mattress protector.

DreamCloud vs. other top mattresses

Want to consider some options? We can help! The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress may be one of the hottest luxury hybrid models in the market, but there are two other competing alternatives out there that deliver the same promise of comfort and are packed with unique aspects that it may not have. Let’s take a look at each of them! Tuft Dreamcloud

DreamCloud vs. Saatva

Similarities: The original Saatva Classic mattress, a luxury hybrid mattress that provides comfort and relief for the back, is very similar to the DreamCloud Hybrid. It is also responsive to movement and bouncy, making it easier for you to navigate the surface.

The Differences: Saatva is a bit more expensive than the DreamCloud Hybrid thanks partly to its construction – its coil system is more intricate, and the organic cotton-covered Euro pillowtop makes up for a more snug feeling. The former, which has one firmness option, can be adjusted to suit different body types.

DreamCloud vs. Nectar

Similarities: The DreamCloud Hybrid and Nectar Mattress are both delivered in a box. You and your companion will have to put them together. Both are jam-packed with impressive temperature-regulating capabilities, offer year-long sleep trials, and even come from the same parent company, Resident.

The differences: The DreamCloud Hybrid bed is a hybrid, while Nectar is an all-foam mattress with a thick layer of memory foam between. This means it can easily adapt to a wide range of sleeping positions than just the back. Many even find it to be best suited for strict side sleeping.

Our Final Thoughts: How Well is the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress Holding Up So Far?

From taking a close look at what it is to fully testing it out for ourselves, it’s evident by now that the DreamCloud Hybrid is brimming with potential as a suitable luxury hybrid mattress for any bedroom and, to some extent, any occasion.

It can support and accommodate most people’s backs. However, it is not able to alleviate pressure points in some areas. Considering the type of materials used and how it’s cleverly constructed, it’s sure to give folks a well-rounded experience that’s open to versatility – and at a surprisingly affordable price range, too!

The DreamCloud Hybrid’s luxuriously crafted medium-firm surface may be inviting for anyone, but not exactly for everyone. We found that the bed does not have enough to hold well for those who weigh as heavy as 300 lbs, more or less. Regardless, it’s clear that it has what it takes as a welcoming staple for solo sleepers, couples, and even families!

You also have less to lose if it’s your decision to buy it. You’ll be given plenty of exclusive discount rates from DreamCloud’s official website, plus exceptionally responsive customer service teams to assist you along the way. We give the DreamCloud Hybrid a solid 4.5/5 star rating due to all these great reasons. For what it is, it’s surely worth the try… and the purchase! Tuft Dreamcloud

FAQ Tuft Dreamcloud

What is DreamCloud’s warranty period? How does it work?

DreamCloud offers its customers a lifetime warranty period in which the company will shoulder the responsibility of replacing or repairing its mattress should it ever sustain significant damage years after purchase, completely free of charge. This can be utilized if the bed slowly compresses and forms impressions at least 1.5 inches deep, sustains material flaws, or comes with manufacturing defects immediately upon purchase.

DreamCloud offers a lifetime warranty on all purchases made through its official website.

How long is DreamCloud’s sleep trial?

Authentic DreamCloud mattresses, including its original hybrid model, come with a 365-night Home Trial period. Compared to other mattress specialists that offer shorter 180-night trials, DreamCloud encourages you to familiarize yourself and test the waters with your purchase for a full year, giving you more time to decide if it’s the right fit.

What happens if I decide to return the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress during the sleep trial period? And does it apply after it ends?

All DreamCloud mattress models are eligible to be returned within the 365-night trial. Should you ever feel unhappy and decide to return your purchase within the period, its Sleep Concierge team will be more than happy to assist you with what to do with the mattress, on top of being able to give you a full refund. If you are not satisfied with the mattress, you can exchange it for a new one once you have received your money. Tuft Dreamcloud

Unfortunately, returns after the trial period end are not possible. You wouldn’t be eligible for a refund, either.

What countries does the DreamCloud Hybrid typically ship to?

This applies to all orders made through the official webstore. The DreamCloud Hybrid and its other models are sent to you completely free of cost – provided that you reside within the contingent U.S. Additional $150 will be charged for mattresses shipped to Alaska or Hawai’i.

DreamCloud does not ship its products from the website to U.S. territories like Puerto Rico and Guam and other countries beyond the borders. However, it has a certified storefront on Amazon.com that allows you to have any of them shipped internationally. Tuft Dreamcloud
