A Closer Look into the DreamCloud Which Mattress Is Better Lull Or Dreamcloud

The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress stands out among the other luxury hybrid beds of today. It’s made from the same high-quality materials as all other hybrid beds, but it costs comparatively less. Its comfort level is advertised to be near the medium firm range, though leaning a bit slightly firm. It’s practically within the range an average person may look forward to sleeping on, but it could also be a concern for those who may not be built for that.

With a profile measured at 14 inches, the DreamCloud Hybrid may be a handy upgrade for people who may have been used to sleeping in lower beds, as its hybrid nature allows them to lay more comfortably with extra cushioning and layers underneath for support. And, considering its overall construction which we’ll tackle later on, it allows folks with limited budgets to switch to a newer, better model from the old, worn-out one.

DreamCloud Hybrid, the flagship product of DreamCloud USA, is a US-based sleep specialist brand. It offers its customers a luxurious-grade but valuable bedroom experience. The firm sells DreamCloud Premier and DreamCloud Premium Rest premium mattresses.

While we will be focusing on the DreamCloud entry-level model, it is worth noting that both models are made from more expensive materials, which increases their price and comfort. We are not going to discourage you from purchasing the Original model. However, we will show later in this review that it can provide the same luxurious feel and cost-effectiveness as the other mattresses.

How Does the General Public Feel About DreamCloud?

The DreamCloud mattress, along with its sister models, has amassed over 10,000 reviews as of this writing. Many of these reviews are extremely positive. They range from how great it was to get a good night’s sleep to how much it is worth the price.

It may be unique enough to win hearts, but we can’t ignore the criticisms it has faced. Some sleepers have expressed dissatisfaction with the DreamCloud Hybrid, claiming it was too soft and too firm. Some even shared their experience of suffering from back/neck/hip pain from sleeping on it alone.

Any reaction that comes from using this product for a long period may yield mixed results since these can vary from person to person. The main factors that influence how a person feels about the product are their weight, age, climate, and preference for sleeping position. We cannot guarantee that the DreamCloud Hybrid will suit every sleep type. We are certain that the DreamCloud Hybrid may be a good choice for those who want to sleep comfortably.

Who Should Use the DreamCloud?

  • Strict back sleepers – This mattress is exceptional in its ability to provide ample comfort, spinal alignment, and much-needed pressure relief, especially for those who may have varying signs of back pain
  • People who like to sleep on a firmer, medium-firm mattress
  • Hot sleepers – The DreamCloud Hybrid’s strategically designed with gel infusion and air pockets, a powerful combination guaranteed to keep the individual cool throughout the night
  • People who want to upgrade to a luxurious mattress at a reasonable price
  • Active couples or partners – Those with their partners may enjoy this model’s impressive ease of movement, and this can be used to their advantage should they decide to do anything on the bed
  • Senior citizens – The majority of seniors may have varying levels of chronic pain, particularly back pain. The DreamCloud Hybrid may help them to manage their pain.

Who Might Not Like This Mattress?

  • Strict side sleepers – Some lightweight sleepers may find the bed’s surface a bit firmer to lay on, while heavier folks are more prone to sinking, therefore causing intense pressure points to form
  • Heavyweight sleepers – Although this mattress might be able to support most body types, it may not have enough weight to support the heavier individuals.
  • Folks who prefer a mattress with memory foam – The DreamCloud mattress may have a memory foam layer, but it may not provide what memory foam fans are exactly looking for: a soft, sinking feeling they get when they lie in bed

Testing the DreamCloud’s Firmness and Feel

Firmness is one of the very first things you may need to check if you’re looking for a new mattress. How firm or how soft it would turn out to be may either make you want to buy one or turn you off from it entirely. Although the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress claims a comfort level of 6.5/10 on the firmness scale for its mattress, how accurate is that claim? We tested the mattress’ overall firmness and felt to find out if DreamCloud is a true brand with its flagship mattress. Which Mattress Is Better Lull Or Dreamcloud

We sent in four volunteers – each from three different weight groups – to sleep on the DreamCloud Hybrid in different sleeping positions on a two-week venture. Two of them represent the lightweight (130 lbs below) and heavyweight (230 lbs above) sleepers, respectively, while the rest of the team represents the average group (130-230 lbs), although one weighs 155 lbs and the other is close to 225 lbs.

The data collected over the last 14 days suggests that the majority of people could agree that the mattress can accommodate a wide range of body weights and positions. However, not all. We would give the DreamCloud Hybrid a solid 7/10 on the firmness scale, which is medium firm. It is soft enough to feel comfortable and supportive enough to mold to the body in different positions. Plus, it’s worth noting that two of the three volunteers found the mattress to receive comfort instantly upon contact, while the other admittedly took them a few days to adjust.

How Does It Feel in Different Sleeping Positions?

Flat Back Sleeping

The DreamCloud Hybrid is a great choice for back sleepers of any weight. According to what we have gathered from volunteers, there was no issue with the firmness of the DreamCloud Hybrid. Its construction is flexible enough to support the spine and provide adequate support. Lightweight sleepers may enjoy this one – not only should they feel supported enough, but its top layers should also give them the feeling of being able to lie on top as comfortably as possible.

The DreamCloud Hybrid may be the best choice for average-weighted people. It should provide them with the right balance of support and relief. The coils beneath the mattress should support their hips and sink into the mattress. Heavyweight sleepers should also feel the same to some extent, but those who weigh around 300lbs or more may not find it suitable since they may sink in too much to the point where pressure is produced. Which Mattress Is Better Lull Or Dreamcloud

Flat Stomach Sleeping

While the DreamCloud mattress may provide most back sleepers with exceptional contouring and spinal alignment, the same can apply to side sleepers, though there are a few notable exceptions. Reactions are mixed for our average-weighted sleepers – our 155-lb volunteer found the bed to be able to support and align their body quite well. Their 225-lb counterpart observed its top layers to be a bit soft under his hips but was able to experience a decent amount of support and comfort.

The DreamCloud Hybrid may be too soft for heavy people, especially those over 300 lbs. Our representative from that group told us her hips were sinking into the mattress often whenever she laid on her stomach, and it reached the point where she found it a bit uncomfortable to sleep in this position. While it seems that stomach sleepers who weigh more than average may find issues with this mattress, lightweight individuals may reap the benefits of relief better than other denominations. Because of their body, their hips will not be able sink in as much. Therefore, they should feel just as comfortable on their stomachs than their backs.

Side sleeping

Side sleeping on the DreamCloud Hybrid is more common for those who are average in weight than the others. For folks who weigh between 130-190 lbs, they may receive an ample amount of contouring support, and the pressure along the hips and shoulders won’t be as much so they should be good. According to our 155-lb volunteer, the experience was worthwhile as they were able to rest well regardless if they switch to either side or stick to one. For those who weigh 190 lbs onwards, it’s a different story.

Our heavyweight and 225-lb reps both felt that the mattress was uncomfortable to sleep on their sides. Both experienced a lot of sinking in their hips, shoulders and hips. This can lead to pressure points that could cause minor concurrent pains. While heavier people may find the DreamCloud Hybrid soft, those less than 130 pounds may find it more firm to allow them to sleep well. This is what our lightweight volunteer can attest: she found it uncomfortable to sleep on one side for long periods of time, but it was quite comfortable when she switched sides. Minor adjustments can be expected at this rate.

Examining its Pain Relief Capabilities

While our volunteers had a lot of fun testing the DreamCloud Hybrid’s firmness, it was also possible to assess how effective it is in pain relief. We set up a pressure map over the mattress and asked our volunteers to lie on their stomachs, backs, and sides to determine if there was any pressure difference.

We believe that the DreamCloud Hybrid can provide excellent pressure relief for most sleepers. Except for the folks who weigh more than 300 lbs, most sleepers may be able to find comfort and relaxation on the spot – the bed’s layers, including the memory foam, are enough to support their weight equally and contour their silhouette very well, resulting in low pressure across the board. The mattress creates very few pressure points, which means that back pains are less likely to occur. This is especially important for seniors and people who have back problems.

The DreamCloud Hybrid will produce some pressure points in the stomach area, especially along the hips. Lightweight and average sleepers may be able to rest soundly without the imminent fear of pent-up pressure, but heavyweight ones, especially those whose structure is adjacent to 300lbs, may need to watch out as too much sinking may lead to an increase in pressure points. Which Mattress Is Better Lull Or Dreamcloud

When it came to side sleeping, we spotted some significant pressure points on most body types. No matter how much you weigh, it’s likely that laying sideways on the surface of the DreamCloud Hybrid may make you prone to varying degrees of discomfort, and it gets much worse if you’re heavier. For instance, lighter sleepers may not find the mattress comfortable in this position, while heavier sleepers may feel more pain in their hips and shoulders. The only anomaly here is the group of average-weighted sleepers, but that doesn’t mean they’re completely free from the pressure points the DreamCloud mattress may bring to them.

How to Dismantle Its Construction

What exactly is the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress made of? Standing 14 inches tall, the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is packed with noteworthy qualities that help keep the sleeper relaxed and cool throughout the night. It’s equipped with exceptional cooling capabilities to keep the body cool and prevent heat buildup, making it a top-performing hybrid model.

Built using high-quality CertiPUR-US-certified foam layers of varying firmnesses with a thin tier of memory foam in between, it’s also backed with a set of strong innerspring coils to hold the body together. To know more about its construction, let’s take a more in-depth look beyond the DreamCloud mattress’s covers.

Layer 1: Cashmere Blend Cover

Cashmere wool has been historically known for being soft to the touch and luxurious in its feel. It’s for this reason that DreamCloud chose to incorporate this into the cover of its signature mattress model. Splayed across the surface, its cloud-patterned quilt design is enough to invite the person to lie on the bed freely. The material is breathable and has excellent temperature-regulating characteristics to help cool the sleeper at night.

Layer 2: Contouring Soft foam

Since the mattress cover is quilted, after all, you wouldn’t guess which material is stitched onto until now! Under the cashmere-blend mattress cover is a plush, soft, and supportive polyfoam that provides ample support for the body’s weight. With 1 1/2 inches worth of material, this layer helps give off a pillow-top feel that users may likely experience upon contact with the bed – all without the worries about breaking the bank.

Layer 3: Memory Foam Layer

Memory foam has been well-known for its ability to adapt to the body and provide relief from pressure points. The DreamCloud Hybrid has it placed underneath the quilted top layer. It measures one inch and is just right to support the sleeper, but it doesn’t give off a sinking sensation. This material may be notorious for trapping heat, but DreamCloud fixes this by incorporating gel infusion, allowing their body temperature to be cooled down further along with the indented cover.

Layer 4: Layer of Transition Polyfoam

Beneath the memory foam is a two-inch firm polyfoam that serves as a transitional layer between the soft part of the mattress and the base foundation of the coils. It works in two ways: 1) to conform the body’s shape and posture into perfect alignment, and 2) to keep it from further sinking into the mattress until it reaches the coils, which can oftentimes be highly inconvenient.

Layer 5: Innerspring Coils

The DreamCloud Hybrid’s foundation is made up of an entire system of individually wrapped innerspring coils. Contributing to the total height of the mattress at just 8 1/2 inches, each spring is enrobed with a breathable fiber – this way, it should help maximize the bed’s cooling capabilities, letting more air in and more heat from the body out. While most of the coils can respond to the sleeper’s ever-changing movements well, the perimeters are designed to be strategically fortified using stronger steel, effectively making way for better edge support.

Layer 6: Stability Base Layer

Situated beneath the coil set is an inch-thick layer of high-density standard foam. It acts as a foundation for the mattress and is thick enough to prevent the springs moving, but thin enough to allow airflow. Which Mattress Is Better Lull Or Dreamcloud

them to bounce through. You will not exactly feel it since it’s placed well below, but at least you can appreciate that it’s just there to keep it from falling apart.

Layer 7: Shift resistant lower cover

To cap it all off is a tufted cover to store all the layers within the DreamCloud Hybrid safely in place. It’s not considered the bed’s main layer, but it serves the sole purpose of protecting the foundation. The mattress’s round borders are embellished with tufted decor. It also has four sides handles that are sewn into the side to make it easy to transport.

What was the DreamCloud’s Performance?

The perfect mattress should adapt to the individual’s needs. Other than being able to accommodate their body type and preferred sleeping position, there are other important factors that should be considered. This includes their habits and climate. Within our two-week testing period, we got to run a series of performance tests to see if the DreamCloud Hybrid has what it takes as an integral staple in the bedroom.

Temperature Control

The DreamCloud Hybrid promises to be equipped with excellent cooling abilities, and we couldn’t agree more when we checked the temperature of one of our volunteers through a thermal camera scanner. This is all thanks to its mix of temperature-regulating materials embedded within the mattress: the gel-infused memory foam layer, the breathable cashmere cover, and the coils that encourage more air to pass through.

This model is ideal for couples or individuals who live in hot climates.

Motion Transfer

Considering what it’s made of and how it functions, the DreamCloud mattress may not fully absorb a person’s motions, but it does a decent job, regardless. When we had two of our volunteers test it out for motion transfer, we first noticed that one of them wasn’t able to feel another’s changing movements as much until they got more intense. When it came to small movements, it resulted in a lesser to no sign of disturbance.

Similar to most luxury hybrid beds, the DreamCloud Hybrid’s motion isolation capabilities are fairly bearable. This model is not recommended for light sleepers with a restless partner.

Edge Support

The DreamCloud Hybrid is said to provide great edge support with the help of reinforced steel coils around the perimeter/edges, but how accurate is this claim? We tested it by having volunteers lie on the edges of the bed and we found that the claim was mostly accurate. If a mattress has exceptional edge support, sleepers may likely take advantage of its surface without the imminent fear of sinking or falling off it.

While most of our volunteers could attest to the DreamCloud bed’s edges being able to support them decently well, our heavyweight rep said otherwise – those who weigh 230 and beyond may not find this bed supportive enough.

Noise

Beds with innerspring coils as their foundation are notorious for making significant squeaking noises, especially coming to terms with intense movement. This is also true for hybrid beds that have springs interspersed between layers of foam.

The DreamCloud Hybrid is a rare exception. During our two-week test period, no one noticed any annoying squeaking from the bed. The way it was constructed or the method of wrapping up each oil may be a contributing factor, but regardless, with this model, noise shouldn’t be a huge worry for many. Which Mattress Is Better Lull Or Dreamcloud

Ease of Movement

Ideally, mattresses made with a wide variety of materials should be able to strike a balance between contouring and ease of movement – the DreamCloud model achieves this by making its memory foam layer complimentary with other foam layers, not outshine them, therefore allowing it to conform the body’s shape like a light hug. The coil system underneath the comfort layers should be responsive to movement, which will make navigation easier throughout the surface.

As our team tried to move around the bed, we spotted right away that it wasn’t entirely difficult to switch from one side of the surface to another. If you plan to do some motion-intensive activities on the bed, especially, you wouldn’t have any issues with it.

Sex

Speaking of motion-intensive, we see a promising amount of potential in the DreamCloud Hybrid as an ideal bed for sexual activities. People who only engage in sex occasionally may find it beneficial to be able to adjust to their movements quickly. The fact that it makes noticeably less noise than other hybrid beds also makes it likely possible for them to engage discreetly.

Being a medium-firm bed, partners who prefer to do one or three positions may not find enough hugging along the surface to keep them at least secure. Regardless, the DreamCloud mattress fits the bill as one of our best beds for sex. Which Mattress Is Better Lull Or Dreamcloud

Durability

The DreamCloud Hybrid is durable, thanks to its high-quality materials, certified foam layers, and other features. Plus, based on some of the reviews about the product that we could find, its overall quality and capabilities may hold up for not just a mere few weeks but months and even years!

The length of this durability will depend on how frequently the user uses it and if there are any additional people who sleep on it. Reflecting on our two-week testing period, we can all agree that the DreamCloud mattress stayed durable enough to not have its ability to provide comfort compromised. That being said, we believe that it should stay this way for at least seven to eight years. Which Mattress Is Better Lull Or Dreamcloud

Unboxing and Off-Gassing the DreamCloud

The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is neatly packed and sealed in a box. How heavy it is will entirely depend on the size you may prefer, with the lightest being the twin and the heaviest the King and Cal King. When we unboxed the Queen-sized version to be used for our tests, we noticed that some of our teammates find it quite heavy to carry it alone, so from that point onwards we needed an extra person to help ease the burden.

Apart from the mattress, other contents inside the box include a handy booklet for instructions and a free pocket knife that you may use to open it up from the plastic packaging – that is, especially if you don’t have one of your own. After you have rolled it out of the box onto your bed frame, it will be fully compressed. You should wait between 24-48 hours. Expect a slight off-putting smell because you will be interacting with a brand new mattress.

Models made of synthetic foam layers tend to emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs) collected from manufacturing. Since the DreamCloud Hybrid’s foam layers are all CertiPUR-US-certified, the amount should be much less. Regardless, it’s important to leave it out for the smell to dissipate completely after a good day or two. To speed this process up, we suggest that you do so in a well-ventilated environment by opening up all the windows and doors in the room.

Available Sizes and Pricing

The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is not only a great mattress, but it also has some amazing features. Factoring in the kind of materials used in its inception and the remarkable quality of its framework and foundation, it’s no wonder that this model is sold at a range of competitive yet affordable prices.

You may also save money if you order from DreamCloud’s official site. To make it easier, you will receive a set of bedding including sheets, pillowcases and a mattress protector.

The DreamCloud Hybrid is currently sold in six standard sizes, with original prices starting from $799 onwards. For more information, including pricing, dimensions and weight, please see the table below.

DreamCloud vs. Other Top Mattresses

You want to look at other options? We can help! Although the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is the most popular luxury hybrid model on the market, there are two alternatives that offer the same comfort and have unique features that it does not. Let’s take a look at each of them! Which Mattress Is Better Lull Or Dreamcloud

DreamCloud vs. Saatva

Similarities: The original Saatva Classic mattress, a luxury hybrid mattress that provides comfort and relief for the back, is very similar to the DreamCloud Hybrid. It’s also bouncy and responsive to movements, making it easier to navigate across the surface.

The differences: Saatva costs a little more than DreamCloud Hybrid due to its more complex coil system and Euro-coated cotton pillowtop. The former, which has one firmness option, can be adjusted to suit different body types.

DreamCloud vs. Nectar

The Similarities: Both the Nectar Mattress and DreamCloud Hybrid are delivered in a box, so you and your companion will need to set them up on your own. Both are jam-packed with impressive temperature-regulating capabilities, offer year-long sleep trials, and even come from the same parent company, Resident.

The differences: The DreamCloud Hybrid bed is a hybrid, while Nectar is an all-foam mattress with a thick layer of memory foam between. This means it can easily adapt to a wide range of sleeping positions than just the back. It is even recommended for side sleeping.

Our Final Thoughts: How Well is the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress Holding Up So Far?

From taking a close look at what it is to fully testing it out for ourselves, it’s evident by now that the DreamCloud Hybrid is brimming with potential as a suitable luxury hybrid mattress for any bedroom and, to some extent, any occasion.

It can support and accommodate most people’s backs. However, it is not able to alleviate pressure points in some areas. Considering the type of materials used and how it’s cleverly constructed, it’s sure to give folks a well-rounded experience that’s open to versatility – and at a surprisingly affordable price range, too!

Although the DreamCloud Hybrid’s medium-firm surface is inviting, it may not be for everyone. The bed is not strong enough to support 300-pounds or more. It’s evident that the bed is a welcome staple for couples and single sleepers alike.

You also have less to lose if it’s your decision to buy it. DreamCloud offers a variety of discounts and has a responsive customer support team to help you. We give the DreamCloud Hybrid a solid 4.5/5 star rating due to all these great reasons. For what it is, it’s surely worth the try… and the purchase! Which Mattress Is Better Lull Or Dreamcloud

What is DreamCloud’s warranty? How does it work?

DreamCloud offers its customers a lifetime warranty period in which the company will shoulder the responsibility of replacing or repairing its mattress should it ever sustain significant damage years after purchase, completely free of charge. This can be utilized if the bed slowly compresses and forms impressions at least 1.5 inches deep, sustains material flaws, or comes with manufacturing defects immediately upon purchase.

DreamCloud offers a lifetime warranty on all purchases made through its official website.

How long is DreamCloud’s sleep trial?

Authentic DreamCloud mattresses, including its original hybrid model, come with a 365-night Home Trial period. DreamCloud offers a longer 180-night trial than other mattress companies. This gives you the opportunity to get to know the product and to make a decision.

All DreamCloud mattress models are eligible to be returned within the 365-night trial. Should you ever feel unhappy and decide to return your purchase within the period, its Sleep Concierge team will be more than happy to assist you with what to do with the mattress, on top of being able to give you a full refund.
